Rolex - Authentic or a replica?

Dear Fellow watch enthusiasts.
This is my very first post on your website and the whole story shortened is that I was about to give this "gen" Rolex Submariner a shot but I can't really determine the authenticity. The watch allegedly has the gmt-master bracelet and according to seller it came with the green hologram sticker on the back. In advance, sorry for the poor quality of the picture but I hope that you can('t) see some obvious faults!

I know I just looked it up - as you suggest they don't use it anymore :laugh: But he says it has been serviced and some older spare parts has been used. Is there any other tell-tell signs which you can identify?

Thanks for your input. Now the thing is that I'm looking for a gen, and I know this person in real life, but I was still wondering if you could determine some real obvious faults as I'm really in doubt. + He isn't asking a too good to be true price.

The rehaut-engraving is all over the place lol. Look at the bezel-insert, colour is completely off, definitely not platinum paint used. Stay away.

Rehaut engraving, bezel color/marking, pearl, bracelet! Polished mid links? Green sticker? The long minutes markers... Etc

And ooarr I see the humor in it - an impossible task but I'm desperately looking for answers

What do you mean about the minute markers and is the pearl too yellow? Plus is the rehaut too wide?

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

The Rolex forum is probably a good bet, I hear lots of trusted honest sellers on there mate,

Thanks! The problem is that it doesn't seem too good to be true - just at the 6000$ mark. The problem is that I know this guy and I have to have a reasonable explanation to why I don't want it, so If you can spot an even more visual mistake it would be awesome!

tell him to meet at a rolex dealer. Theyll tell you pretty quick if its gen or not.

Yes, I know that they will but I was hoping to avoid the trip and just sort it out by pointing out obvious fault.

Why do you need a reasonable explanation to why? Here's one to use, the truth: Because the watch is fake and you don't want to spend 6k on a fake watch.

Now days with all really good reps in market just one picture even with best quality is really hard ( impossible) to say if is gen or rep .the only way is open the back of watch and see what's movement inside. Special when they can use gen parts on surface like hands but movement be fake .
If you are really concern about being gen or rep this is the only way for confirmation. Good luck .

The bracelet is incorrect, the middle of the links are shiny, that is obviously wrong, there are many subtle problems, the dial looks wrong, the hands are wrong, insert pearl is really bad.....etc etc etc
