Your information is a little false. Tungsten is considered an irritant and dangerous but only during manufacturing phase, when it is in dust/micro powder form.

There are tungsten carbide rings (legitimately produced) for many many years without issues.

There have been rumors of custom tungsten cases which were composed of lead and other materials which made it react to skin contact. But you won't have to worry about those if you're not going a custom build.
