The gen DJ36 does use the 3235 so on paper it should fit bro. IDK if your DJ36 case will take one. A lot of rep 36mm cases are made to house DG/ETAs. Ones made for the 3135 have a very tight fit. Look at this ARF

The stubs that stick out of the 3235 movement might need to be modded a little, they look pretty long for a DJ36 case.

Some better movement pics here

Yeah, i do see your point. It is probably hit and miss with this one.

Li advised me against the SA3235, and i'm not really keen on A3235, as i understand timeseting, date setting is opposite to gen, plus a noisy rotor.

And so far, there is no info on VSF putting out a DJ36

Also the way the VSF DJ41 (and new gen) dial is attached to the movement is totally different from before. There are no dial feet or feet holes in the movement. So the best solution would probably be to drill new holes for feet since there is no dial spacer. You could clip feet and use dial dots. That can get a little messy though, I don't like that approach.

This is already waaaaay over my skill level :)

Hmm, any experience with the SA3235, is it really that unreliable?

I would steer clear of any SA3135/3235. The SA3235 is a not a true clone and has some proprietary (factory rigged) parts like the automatic module. I would just use a VR3135 and not worry about the setting direction.

But sadly the GMF 36mm only comes with either a3235 or sa3235

I think you mean A3135 or SA3235.

https://www.ts-stations.cn/mobile/products.php?CateId=991&limit=100&Sort=3d

Either one is the worst among its competitors. You could swap in a VR3135 either immediately, or wait til the stock movement dies and do it then. I have a BP SA3135 that's running fine atm but it's getting replaced at the first sign of trouble.

I’m thinking I’ll do something similar, let it run until it dies, and hopefully VSF will release a 36mm :)

Thanks for all the feedback KJ :)
