Where did you read that they purchased a gen RM52?

Angus said they were using the case of the gen Rm11 to help them rep the RM52.

I don't think so.
Normally they give all the parts away to different factory's to replicate them.
And not every part is coming back or some parts a damaged after that.
So normally the gen is dead after that process.

doesnt seem cost effective in my mind, why spend 100k+ on a watch to just break it and then wait years to finally break even on replica sales.

You guys are just passing off wrong information.

They didn't buy a gen RM052 - Angus has a thread called "Rep of the year 2017" or something along those lines. They bought a gen RM11 but the 52 will be the best rep yet with proper case size, shape, etc.

I think you are underestimating how much money they are making on those reps.

If they bought the gen and are copying it then the chances are quite high it will be > 80% accurate to gen. Even that clone movement looks damn good.
