RL02101 ROLEX SEA-DWELLER DEEP SEA ASIA 3135 ULTIMATE BEST Really worth the money?

I've been lurking for a few weeks now and have decided that I'd like to pull the trigger on a Sea-Dweller. Do you guys think that this particular "Ultimate" edition is worth the money over the others for sale on RM?

It is pretty pricey. There is a big write up somewhere of all the different DSSD and their value compared to their accuracy. I would look for that.

Asian 3135 essentially a Asian 2836-2 movt with painted wheels. I just swapped mine with an ETA 2836-2.

Looks like a nice clean watch. I got mine from BK and it was about $400 if I remember right. Exactly how many different versions and makers of this watch are there? Stick with the 2836 and you'll be in good shape. Of course, nobody can guarantee you won't get an Asian clone.

Just buy the Asian 2836 version and enjoy your watch!!

I think the only real advantage is that the QC is slightly higher. So you'll still get a rep, but all those really annoying details probably won't happen. For example:

Bezel and pearl will be aligned
Date is centered
Crystal is even
Straight markings on bezel

The list goes on. Personally, I would save the money and go for the Asian clone version of the watch - as at the end of the day, we're the only ones who notice the tiny flaws!

+1 yup, don't pay extra for the 3135 movement, get the asian clone 2836 and be done with it. I'm fairly certain everything else is the same...

Really, IMHO, I must say It is absolutely no worth to buy this Rolex rep ULTIMATE BEST………

For the reasons as follows:

- The movement is an Asian 2836 decorated similar to Rolex 3135 (just decorated). So, in case you open the caseback, you can see easily that the movement.is absolutely fake. Anyway, how many times you are going to open your DSSD case back??
You can have a conventional Asian 2636 for fewer money and it will be fake the same, but the price is very lower

- If you read the specifications of RM, you can see the steel is 316F instead 316L. The 316F is a SS with more Carbon and Phosphorus, a little more Sulfur, a little less Molybdenum and the same Nickel, Chromium and Manganese. It is practical the same but it is a little more “withe” and easier for tooling and polish. Hardness are approximate the same. Selling a Rolex replica in 316F expensiver than other with 316L because it is more “withe”is absurd because the gen Rolex is made in SS 904L, with more Nickel and Chromium and for this reason less “white”, theoretically more close to the 316lL. I’m now comparing my gen Rolex Datejust with my 316L rep and the colour iis the same. Anyway if the comparison is not side by side it will be impossible to see differences and side by side is difficult and it depends on the cleaning degree of the watch. I can say that the 316L is enough good and accurate for the DSSD replica, and perhaps the best option in the market.

-There are not other reasons to pay the higher price of the ULTIMATE BEST.
Its estructure (case, dial, strap, cxrystal) are similar (or the same) than other cheaper versions.


If you are looking for a good DSSD, and you can and want spend money, you can chose

This watch has “Swiss” ETA 2836, I’m writing ”Swiss” (in quotation marks) because I'm sure it is not a really Swiss movement, but sure is Asian made under swiss standard process.

And be sure you can buy a DSSD under 200 USD with a high quality degree.


But if you are looking for an expensive and guaranteed quality DSSD, go to the above mentioned links.

My last purchase was the a.m. Noob factory DSSD from Timesshop (this is to practice what one preaches)

I have been looking at the puretime DSSD as well but what is the change from v6 or v5 that has made this watch v7? Why does it "seem like the best"?

I have only seen the dealer saying it is version seven and photos on his site so far, no comparisons or purchasers comments.

The V7 is better than the V6 and the V5 by exactly 1 and 2, respectively. That's what makes it far superior and why anyone who owns a V6 or below is a loser who is no longer able to wear his watch in public without shoving half his forearm deep in his pocket and hanging his head in shame and self-loathing.
