good evening to all :cheese:
I would like some clarification about the rolex replicas that can be found on the beach or by walking.

I found a submarine that I really like, but I have a concern: according to you-it is possible that the street vendors are selling watches from China and possibly contaminated by RADIATION?

if I buy a submariner from a street vendor then you can change its few pieces to make it more faithful to you?

I'm really in love with the rolex submariner :D:

Replicas typically have the cheapest weakest lume available. Tritium in powder form would be astronomically priced and very hard to obtain anonymously.

I'm guessing the OP might be talking about the Japanese steel contaminated during the recent nuclear power plant disasters, which is thought to have made its way into the China and potentially being used in certain poorly regulated industries...

My advice would be that if you’re worried that your rep might be a gamma source, either throw it away or pop into your local high school and see if you can run it under their Geiger counter!

2 things.

1. I learned something new everyday.

2. Most of the people on this forum cannot see black text. I had to highlight it to see it. ;)

Thanks for chiming in though, makes sense.

Any of the TDs on here will get you a very nice Submariner, how nice just depends on how deep your pockets are!

I don't believe there is a way to know for sure if your rep is made from irradiated steel or not, other than testing it yourself.

There are enough people on here for a couple at least to have access to a Geiger counter, however, unless you send them your watch or put a wanted ad up for a watch with low radioactive emisions, I'm not sure how you'll ever know for sure...

Buy a watch and just don't lick it would be my advice!

I just learned that writing a reply in Word (due to my terrible spelling) and pasting it in makes it invisible to most people! I've got my view set up to vb standard so all text appears black and I just assumed that was what I write in normally...

Every day is a school day!

Don't buy one from a street vendor for sure.

Have a look at what Narikaa has here:

He has some really nice subs for £50 at the moment on special and knows how to ship safely in the EU. He is an excellent dealer and will sort you out.

Just be patient with him as he has been in hospital recently so might not be back up to full speed yet.

Davide compra da un TD qui, NON in spiaggia..

Davide, buy from a TD here, NOT from any street vendor.. You will be happy.

Many dealers here are offering transhipment to avoid problems with customs.
Send me a PM if you wish, I will explain how it works in italian.

You know most browsers have a spell check, yes? These can be set to automatically pick out misspelled words.

I watched it and actually I really like (the black one), but I have only one question:

the words "rolex-rolex-rolex ..." inside the dial is normal that they are so in evidence?

Difficult to tell from just a couple of pictures, however, I suspect they might be a bit too evident, however, this is a $70 watch and will be much better than anything you buy off the beach.

He has another version for about $100 which is a better replica. You get what you pay for at the end of the day and there are guys on here spending $1000+ to what they consider to be the 'ultimate' sub rep.

These are probably the best 'bang for your buck' you'll find and are a great way to find out if this hobby is for you.
