i just started looking for a new replica this week. i have a 1995 gen SS submariner that i keep in the safe. i bought 4 replicas from Chinatown years ago on a business trip because i couldn't believe how close they looked to the original i had on my wrist at the time ( total was < $400 for all 4). i quit wearing the gen after that but since then 2 reps have been destroyed and 2 have been lost. but it worked, the gen is still here. surely it would have been gone by now.
these new replicas look awesome. the gen has changed alot since 1995 but i cant see why anyone spend $8000 for a real one now when they are making these things for $500.
excellent job with the pics comparing the different factories, very helpful. im surely a novice compared to some of you guys but just from the visual look of the pics i think the zzf looks closer to the gen in most of the comparisions.
i will keep researching a little more but right now i will probably be ordering a zzf from jtime this week. will let you know how the purchase goes.
