This is looking like a winner then. Especially with its democratic pricing. Maybe they'll finally perfect this sub just before Rolex unveil a newer, slimmer version next year...

Haha, that would be funny!

If I remember correctly Li even mentioned in the ZZF launch thread that the cap is difficult to replicate. For some technical manufacturing reasons it's difficult to produce a crystal that leaves a cap between it and the insert.

U.K.
I wasn’t talking about the gap but rather the badly shaped crystal edge! We will have to wait for the guinea pigs to get them!:)

I’m going with 41mm, slimmer lugs, 3235. I thought 40mm a while back, but with slimmer lugs it would basically be a black bay 58 with Mercedes hands and a crown guard. Which would obviously be perfect, but unlikely.

OT - i cant wait to read the reviews on this one. Especially as it may lead to more reasonably priced reps. The $500+ rep is difficult proposition for me, when there are so many good ones at half that price.

There will be no more Basel!

No, but they’ll have their own event / or do something with the big 3.

The cyclops is very slightly angled clockwise from the date window. Not the first time I've seen that on this factory model. Ive accepted watches where this condition was worse than yours, it shouldn't be very noticeable IRL. Take it or leave it, fixing it is not easy as a DIY nor without risk of damage to the case, bezel or insert.

Thanks for your help mate, greatly appreciated !
I asked to Trusty if i could get just another picture to confirm the date issue and they don't want to provide an extra picture......If the date is indeed not aligned with the cyclop this is something i won't accept.
I will try to get from Trusty another QC from another watch, not sure if they will do that for me

The watch looks awesome.

Yours has 9 marker a bit tilted would probably start to bother on wrist I think.

Regarding the fat font dials these have still incorrect OFFCIALLY.

I noticed my V2 ZZF LN date has it the same way but my V2 no-date has it correct OFFICIALL Y (V2 not V2S).

But thats a minor thing.

I noticed that aswell right away but it's pretty minor, unless u take a close look at these macroshots u wouldn't be able to tell ;)

EDIT: Read that wrong in a hurry lmao, I didn't notice that actually, I did notice the drunk font on the otherhand but both are fine for me. Not trying to pass it as gen, just took a dive for my 'first' sub, and am more than happy with this beauty!

Regarding dial markers, a technique I use is to hold the phone at a very low angle, maybe 15° and view the marker like it was a runway you are approaching. It's very easy to tell of it's crooked this way.

Pretty interesting approach, I actually saw it was off by the tiniest tiddlytad right away, been going back and forth between the different pictures for the DW to double check if I wasn't going nuts, this will definitely help in the future though!

Exactly, this is the best way imo...i remember that when i had my gen 126600 2 years ago i could see that the 6 o'clock marker was a bit crooked by using this way

Since you told me about this before, I use it every time. Works great

I’ve had a couple watches with markers a little off. It does start to grate, especially as these are the higher end reps and not cheap. especially when someone else takes a look at it and notices it, just makes it seem like a cheap knock off which people expect them to be.
