The TW is supposed to accept gen parts...but I have not tried a gen bezel. I have one coming so I will try it and post if I can confirm it. I can confirm it takes a gen crystal, crown and tube and would likely fit the whole gen bezel assembly as the construction is just like the gen.

Good eye! The TW Bezel is ever so slighly less shallow in the serrations.

I'd confirmed with BK, he mentioned his TW can accept a gen bezel but a gen retaining ring needs to be install as well... now .. where do I get the gen bezel is another question... any advise ?

Update Aug 8th 2011

I thought I would add a video I found on youtube some while back on how to remove a submariner bezel insert (its the same for the BK TW due to the gen construction and it will come in handy if you need to do a bezel swap).

Added to original post.

I hear you can get one more readily in the EU from an AD than we can here in the states. Calling up Rolex in NY will get you a price for the part.

My next attempt to try and get one will be to pull up some Swiss AD via the AD list and email or call. I also want a gen 18kt crown for a ceramic sub. The NY office quoted less than $200 for one.

I love the Sub-a-sar-us!!! Lol. I've got one coming as well and I would hope to be able to put a gen bezel on this thing. What is the estimate cost for gen: bezel, crystal, crown, insert, tube and rings+ install? That would be a great looking watch. Probably just shy of buying a gen used...

Gen LV Bezel insert is about four hundred. Black Gen insert I hear is $150. The crystal is better than a clarks replacement according to BK and has the crown etching. A crystal from rolex would have an "S" laser etched at 6 o'clock for "service", not a coronet so not worth the money IMO. Gen crown and tube around $150 also based on what I hear. The trick is to find a friendly AD which may require going to Canada or Europe for the parts.

Not as bad as one might think.

Cool.. So I can really Franken my TW sub for about $1100 total. Including the price of the watch. If only I had my Bk TW Sub now... He's still waiting on SL dial and hands from my understanding.

Hey Alex, Does your same method work on a Noob TS Ceramic Bezel removal?

BTW: love all your how-to's. I've been studying them for about a month now. I'm tearing into mine to try my hand at your Sub 116610LN build. Wish me luck ;)

Thank you Sir!

Hello Rick, are you trying to remove the actual bezel or the insert?

The insert is easy if it has not been modded (read as glued with epoxy or some other heavy adhesive), just soak bezel with alcohol and it loosens up the glue allowing easy removal.

If you are talking about the video fo removing the bezel with a case knife, like with a gen, the answer is no. The noob bezel is held on with a wire retainer and very difficult to get off with out bending it.

Good luck on the build!

The end result was to remove the insert, so that answers my question perfect!
I was going to attempt your WM pearl w/ new lume. I haven't been able to find the Super-luminova for sale, Or did you buy direct from RC Tritec?

Yes, I bought it direct. The cost wasn't so bad, but the bank transfer and the shipping were the same cost of the lume tripling the cost. In the end I bought 6 sets of lume to offset the cost of shipping and the transfer.
