Personal experience.
Having stayed in china for a number of years becos of my business there, I would have to say that domestic shipping within china is simply superb.
Packages arrive timely and postal service is amazingly fast. Ppl who shop online in china will know what I'm talking abt.
For international shipping, I've so far never lost an item before. Not watches in my parcels but shipment of documents, food stuff etc.
Tracking service online sucks that's true but have never lost a package.
They do take pride in their work and ESPECIALLY when receiver is NON CHINA nationality, all the more they're careful and responsive. With addresses all correct, I cannot imagine a package not being received by the receiver.
China maybe messy in many ways yet in many aspects they're more advanced and responsible in their method of doing things, even better in many areas as compared to Singapore.
Eg. I have a registered article arriving, the postman delivering the package will actually call me(provided number is written on package) to let me know what time he's coming over. In SG, that'll never frigging happen even when your number is clearly stated.
Postman leaving packages on a shoe rack without being authorized? In china he will lose his job overnight and that could be the lightest punishment.
EVERYTHING IN CHINA can be tracked or dug out, thanks to the culture of having connections/bribery/brotherhood.
It's just whether one wants to do it or not. A system I very much embrace.
