I sent a PM to a dealer yesterday that was read but not replied to. I'm not naming names but nearly everyone will know what I am refering to.

I sent a deposit for a watch (1/09) that was to be delivered in March, then June, then September, then by Christmas, now....??

I also purchased a 2nd watch on the promise it would be completed and shipped in a little over a month. It's been that long and nothing.

Here are my issues- production on the 2nd type has begun (or so we are told) yet the 1st ones for which some paid 100%, some paid a deposit have not been shipped. I have yet to see a single member say they have received a watch. Not cool.
Now seller wants folks to pay up for 3rd type, although I've still not seen type 1 or 2, and I know people are going to be posting pics as soon as they get these.

I've had it. I sent that PM, not reply, I've opened up a PP dispute. Sorry, but I am not prepared to lose $1000. I will gladly drop the dispute following a full refund or delivery of the watches I've ordered.

Did you know that after 45 days you can no longer file a dispute? Seems conveniently odd that the time to ship is equal to the time limit for contesting a payment, no?

Might be a good idea to see exactly how much $$ has been sent by RWI members. Bet it's a significant amount, and I cannot see how we can sit back and allow for the possibility of such a huge scam (even if remote). How long are we going to allow people to continue to send in $$ without the delivery of a single product??

I don't want to say b/c it is a trusted dealer and MAYBE I'm wrong. Do not want to tarnish a reputation, but most will easily figure this out.

I did tt RWI staff before filing the dispute, they did not want me to file but I was getting close to the 45 day limit and did not want to risk the $$. Had the dealer replied to my PM I would have given it a few more days (but not let the 45 days go by- it's just too much $$).

Do you have any other methods of contact besides RWI? Personal email or cell phone, perhaps?

I'm certain that this can get worked out. And, yes, this situation is currently being discussed by the staff.

PP dispute is unpleasant, it should be extrema ratio, the very last option. But sometimes you are simply forced to walk that road. Let us know how it is proceeding mate.
Good luck.

wow trusted dealer or not you did what you had to do to get your money back..that is an unreasonable long time to wait...i hope the mods can help you out...btw if you paid cc through paypal you usually have longer than 45 days depending on who your CC company is, direct paypal is 45 days tho...

That indeed is a weird situation and am wondering why you need to pay full payment if you can start to prepare a watch with 25-50% advanced money. Even if the full payment is required then what check n balance methods are in place that your order will be fullfilled and delivered on-time?

why not let an admin contact the dealer for you? It's idiotic to file a PP dispute; it harms the community, the dealer and YOU.

As Hooli said, the staff is fully aware of the situation and it's being discussed. And as carnut alluded to, there are many other members in the same boat, so it's not an isolated situation. I understand that you feel the need to protect your investment, and rightly so. But please consider the possibility that if a handful of people start taking back their money, it increases the chance that the entire project fails and everyone will lose.

Say the dealer

You should say the name, you must say the name...
How many members are sending money rigth now to a dealer that is taking money and not delivering..
Any problem with a dealer is a matter that any member should know, longer you take to say the name, more and more member may loose their money.

pedecter- Not sure idiotic is the right word. If I don't file w/i 45 days I lose the ability to file. A dispute is not a claim and can be dropped at any point which I would love to do upon the return of my $$ or delivery of the watches.
I did not mention anything about watches in the dispute, only that I had not received my product.

I truely hope the community is not harmed, but more importantly we could have easily sent 6 figures to this person and of yet received nothing. Now this dealer is wanting more $$. In my eyes, that is a larger harm to the community.

i hope it gets sorted for you mate ............ its a long time and i would not wait that long ........ the dealers is in this to make a profit for himself .why is he asking for members to pay upfront and wait a year .he should burden the cash himself then he will reap the rewards when the orders are ready to ship ...... is nor fair having the people pay upfront with no 100% guarantee .
the dealers who is making these watches should fund it himself ,its his risk for the high rewards he will gain from the finalisation of the product run ............... just the same as other dealers here they pay upfront and sell the items for a profit at a later date .......

To Carnut and everyone else-- we've sent a PM to the dealer in question. We're waiting on his response.

Just to be clear, I only sent a deposit over a year ago. The balance was paid a bit less than 45 days ago on the promise of delivery in a little over a month. Issue is that more $$ is being requested, there are more models being sold without the 1st ones being delivered, and that although parts have now been in hand for 60+ days, no one has taken delivery that I am aware of.

I would be assembling and shipping daily, would ship all prior orders before selling/ assembling a different model, and would be communicating to all who have sent in $$. Wasting time w/ updates is a bs excuse b/c nearly all could be updated with a single post on rwi.

Like I said, enough is enough and I am not willing to quietly sit and wait anymore.

Thanks for the support.

Guys, if you don't know who it is it means it doesn't and probably won't affect you. Let's respect the decision of the OP to keep this confidential for now. It's his call. As other mods have said, we're working on this. At the moment there is no need to worry. Please be patient while we look into it and also realise that it's the weekend, there are time differences, etc.
