Reselling on consignment?

Posting watches for sale is easy.
Im not the smartest and i can figure out.

Hard part is putting up with the stupid people that;

“only have x amount available in their paypal account”

“Gf wont let me buy another watch”

Or the ask a million questions and disappear.

“Will people call me out”

“What are the flaws”


And it goes on and on and on

I'm good with that. Is there a link to getting certified that you could share. Nothing is happening yet, but if RepPossessed will take them, he's got a ton of posts, so I'd be good with sending them to him.

RonaldF you would still have to be certified to sell them as a reserved sale on M2M as backdoor deals is an automatic bannable offence.

Thanks. Seems like I need to be a patron ($35) and then I need to agree to sharing some personal info in order to be certified. I just messaged @trailboss99 to get the ball rolling. If any of you want to do business with me, that would be awesome, but in order to not get banned, I'm going to take care of the patron/certified status first.

30 reps was a guesstimate that I mentioned as my initial request/question which was to try to find a consignor. I looked at my collection since then and it's going to be 20-something watches. Still a lot, but less than 30.

At the risk of being a total butt head. I am starting to question if these watches are real. How did you buy 30+ watches from the best factories and yet are having basic questions about how to be certified as a patron here on RWI.

This hobby is not easy to start with. You figured out how to buy all these watches but don’t want to figure out how to sell them?

100% OK. I'm not super active here or anywhere. Takes a stand up guy to own up to things, so good on you!

I do understand how things can get with some shady characters infiltrating and gumming up the works, so the skepticism is understanable.

I've seen people complain about TD's on r/RepTime or the plater FlanDad. I've yet to get scammed, but it doesn't mean I don't believe it when guys relate their horror stories.

Hi, Does anyone know anybody that would lists and sells reps on consignment? I've got a lot of reps, all in like new or almost like new condition. They're all good reps - VSF, Clean, etc., no shitters. Over 30 watches in total. I just want to cull the herd and bring it down to a reasonable sized collection. Any help here would be awesome. Thanks! I'm not very techie, and I'd be happy to pay someone (30%?) to list them and not have to pay me until they complete the sales.

If you have a UPS store near you they will package and ship for you.. The Post Office has small box prepaid mailers I use that make it easy. You only need to buy some bubble wrap at the UPS store. If that is a problem I will ship you 30 pieces of bubble wrap ready to go along with a roll of packing tape all for free.

I just wanted to show you the kind of sellers I'm talking about, albeit from a different hobby or community.

Both of these guys (and there are more), are from the pipe smoking world which has gotta be less people than there are in the rep watch world - after all, how often do you encounter a pipe smoker these days. Their business is just consigning used "estate" pipes. They list 10-20 pipe listings/week and the commissions they charge the consignees range from 25-35% if you deal with them regularly, otherwise as much as 40% commission of the final sale price. I know that because of the nature of reps, that nobody consigns reps on eBay, but figured maybe someone does it here or on Reddit. I now know that they don't. Anyway, these are two examples from the pipe world, of what I had hoped to find in the rep world.

...so is this unrecognizable from genuine including the weight? I need to not be called out.

Looks genuine question and request. It's fine that we don't allow that as it will be too complicated if things go south but don't see the OP of any sort of mischief character.

Personally, Selling watches for me has stopped after the new certified listing. I was even a supporter earlier and used to sell many watches and then went away and then this new rule kicked in. Never got to understand it completely and my frequency of visit is also low now a days. I need to spend time to understand if that's perfectly safe for me to get into the selling part again. Not that I'm doubting the practice here, it's just that I never got time to read and understand it well enough to get confidence. I have enough watches which I could swap or sell.
