I see several long time, and respected members here saying to get the Seagull, as it is cheaper. On the other hand, I have also seen it posted that many have both, and the seagulls have died while their 7750 keep on ticking.

This has made me, not knowing much about the Seagull, to stay away from them.

It is no doubt initially cheaper, but if it has to be replaced more often, it would negate the savings. No?

Always wanting to learn more about this.

I agree with you, Knife. For some reason the low cost of repairing or replacing a Seagull makes it a 'better' movement in some folks' eyes. On the A7750, so long as the seconds are at 9, it's a reliable movement and readily serviceable. The 4 Seagull automatics I have had all felt wonky, light and unimpressive. it may be more expensive, but I'll take the A7750 over a Seagull every day of the week.

So are the AP ROO's with seconds at the 12 an issue? Most have a7750's in them. I have a fairly new one and one on the way. I haven't heard them being an issue much on here.

Yes, rep A7750 with seconds @12 are a nightmare. If you wear the watch frequently you will have issues in more 50% of the watches

Well sh!t. I might try to stop my order on my AP right now and order something else. Love the AP chronos. Don't love problems with $600 reps

Haha. Right after I said that the QC pics came in and here was no way I could say no! If it breaks I'll fix it. That's a great collection you have there. There are a few on my want list there for sure. And btw thanks again for that awesome PAM guide!

Yes the a7750 with second hand @12/6 is like 50:50, is like a timebomb, this is because the non-jeweled transfer gear, but you can get it serviced and do a jewel mod to add it's reliability but it will cost you more money mate.

Thanks. I am a noob. Especially with regards to movement. I hope the fact that I rotate the watches I have will give it a bit more time.

Just follow the rule upon treating the a7750 and you'll be fine, who knows you might get lucky mate, wear it until it broke then get it serviced.

I am sending my 5th watch for repair tomorrow. It is a new Pam rep with a couple minor problems. I think the service is good and painless. Amy is responsive, but i don't think she works every day. I like the communication. I would recommend ReplicaWatchRepair.com. Their entire process is very easy. I live on the east coast of USA. RWR is in or near Chicago so I just mail my watch without dealing with the customs problems of shipping the watch back to the TD in china.

This site sounds good. I am going to send my CrPo to them for servicing since they do take in international orders.

I have a seconds at 6 Daytona I recently had serviced by 14060 or 16610? Watch Repair who is also located in Chicago. He gives an excellent report along with the service. In the report, the seconds at 6 module was of course addressed. Mine is partially jewelled, which I guess us more common now a days and solves most of the dreaded issues that have been so well documented. Ultimately he said the module gives hardly anymore more resistance than a traditional seconds at 9. I was amazed at how quiet and smooth it now runs. Only problem I had was the minute chronograph hand was slipping upon chronograph reset so I had to obtain a replacement set. I guess this can occur due to how the hand attaches to the stem (to my understanding it is a compression type fitting) combined with the speed of reset. Also want to acknowledge ALE7575 for his awesome PAM guide. It is beyond compare. Back to the subject thread, anyone else use this service? I've got a SOSF I bought m2m where the previous owner polished the lugs and I'm thinking of having them rebrushed to match gen. I may send it off to here. The couple of reports I've seen have been positive.

I just had my 2nd Breitling Gen serviced at ReplicaWatchRepair.com. I am delighted. Earlier this year I sent another Breitling Gen to Breitling for minor service for $700.

Just wanted to add to this thread since I received back my Noob 7750 SuperOcean today. They did an excellent job servicing it, turnaround was fast and communication punctual. I'd recommend them to anyone here as the prices are great also.

Why don't people/members stick with the vendors that are here? I know that Strodda and Vac are both based in USA and both are verified safe. Stay with our supporting vendors guys....
