Just wondering if people bother getting the Box/Paper sets that's available when buying a Replica Watch ?
So much time/effort goes into finding that near perfect replica, in my eyes having the box/papers just completes the package.

I have bought many box sets and each time they sit in my closet and neither I or anyone else sees them. Lol

Waste of money and space. All my watches, rep and gen, are in watch display boxes. My gen watches' boxes are locked away in a closet. Every now and then, the wife would yell "When are you going to get rid of all these (expletive)???!!!" [emoji1]

Come for the watches, stay for the drama! [emoji12]

For starters, You are always better served in getting a nice, good, solid watch box for 12 reps instead of the cheapest one or instead of a rep-box.
Rainers boxes are top notch but there are good ones for less as well.
Later, imho it adds to the experience to have the box/ accessories for 1 or 2 watches just for the fun of it. Not inferior quality rep-boxes, You can buy second hand gen boxes for just slightly more (say $100 instead of $80 or $150 instead of $120), many gen-users just don´t want them, as many members here just don´t need them.
It´s completely up to You, if You buy a $100 strap to improve the feeling or a $100 box to have at home and possibly also store the watch in.

Why? I have a GEN sub and I NEVER think about the box. Wear your REP and don't worry about a box.

For reps, no.

For gen's, absolutely! I keep everything that comes with any gen watch I purchase and that includes, box, all paperwork, service history, hang tags, any removed links, etc. The resale value on a gen is always increased when it's complete with box, paperwork, service records, hang tags, etc.

Not necessary. But if you want them get them.

I watched a youtube vid about a owner of a new gen AP Pique Royal Offshore chrono who was disappointed with both the quality of the gen boxes and the fit/finish of his $20k watch.

Reps Rule!

when i first got into the rep hobby it was a must have - i ordered two shitty pams with shitty box and papers. Once you stay here long enough, you realize this is a complete waste of money. Most of us have many watches and have no space for that other junk.

As a side note - many here frown upon rep B&P because it leaves a bad taste in the mouth that someone is trying to sell rep as gen. now i am not saying everyone does this, but there have been some and it only takes one asshat to make it look bad for everyone.

Best advice is spend your money on more watches or a nice wold or reiner watch box for your multiple pieces

In my opinion, it only makes sense to have the Box and papers with a gen. I would only buy a box for a rep if it was cheap and gen. I already spend too much time analizing rep watches, imagine if I started doing that with the boxes too! No way.

Box and papers are important for gen watches, but totally useless for reps unless you are trying to give it as a gift and trying to pass it off as gen!
