Hi. I'm planning to purchase a replica Rolex Day-Date 36 mm fitted with A2836 since A2836 is stable and reliable compared to clone 3255.

However i have read A2836 will get spoilt in about 3-8 years even if I get it serviced. So I plan to replace it with gen Sellita 220-2 which will be a future release (1-2 years) and an upgrade of SW220-1. SW220-2 will have 65+ power reserve instead of 40 hours of SW220-1.

So what do you think about dimesion changes in SW220-1 vs SW220-2? Will SW220-2 easily fit in place of A2836?

Get the DD. Wear it in the best of health. Once it gives you a problem, fix it ! No need to spend the extra cash up front !

Best of luck !

2836 = sw220. Both are Swiss. Wait and see how it is there are many examples of the A2836 running for more than a decade, where some die quickly. No way to tell. If it dies then address it. By then you might just want a new watch vs throwing 300 or so into one that's been used for years.

I don’t even know what I’m having for dinner tomorrow and here you are thinking about what might happen to your watch 8 years from now 😅
😁. Because 500 USD for a replica is not a small sum for an Indian like me. I need the replica to last many years.

That is also true. After all, I'm getting a rep, and a new Sellita movement will cost 300 USD.

He was being sarcastic, if that wasn't obvious my good man ! 🫶🏻.

$500 IS A LOT of cash for many, you, I, and many others ! Exactly my point: GET the DD as it is, WEAR THE BEJESUS out of it... and when / if it fails, you can get another movement ! Try, you will be surprised !

Enojy the journey !

Just a bit of lighthearted banter 😄 I’m sure that with the right care, the watch will stay with you for many years anyway. Enjoy it 😄
Thanks to all of you. So after purchasing a DD with A2836, I'll get the movement serviced ASAP. Then i think that the watch will last long.
