Removing smudge/fingerprint from dial?

Whats the best way to go about doing this?
I am afraid to use any sort of cloth inside to avoid lint, dust, and scratches.

It is on my JLC NSD, away from any printing or stamping on the dial, so it should be fairly easy to do. It is right next to the "9" if it matters (black part of the dial).

I just want to avoid doing any further damage or messing anything up. :wyliehelp:

It is very light, originally i was planning on using a microfiber and some eye glasses cleaning solution but I figure I would ask first. I also have some Kimwipes that are supposed to be abrasive and lint free but I dont know if its safe on something as delicate as a watch dial :thud:

+1 on Rodico

If it doesn't come out I usually use a little distilled water on a Q-Tip to clean the spot. Don't rub the surface, just touch it. Be very careful if you use any liquids not to touch any painted area or markers, they probably gonna dissolve.

I use it every time I have a watch open. Good to hold small pieces like hands and indices, and it cleans up without leaving marks. Just dab, dont rub as smokie says. Rubbing=scratches.

I'm going to have to get some Rodico, trying to get smudges of faces and crystals drives me wild! Everytime I think I've cleaned sucessfully, something sneaks in to ruin it.

Dont you hate when you've got everything all greased up and put back together and there is dust or smudges on the inner crystal or dial you didnt see before??

I want to throw the watch at the wall when that happens haha.

There was another thread here about this recently; one idea is to get a lens pen from Best Buy. Best to have a blower, though, when using, as sometimes it leaves some carbon dust, and you don't have to press hard with it.

After I started using a blower, this watch hobby has been more pleasant + rodico always. (hopefully that sentence does not sound nasty...).

Haha thanks guys.

I'll pickup some Rodico and bust the watch open when I have a free couple of hours.

I do have a lens pen bit I didn't think it would be delicate enough for the dial. Rodico seems safer and easier :)
