You all started somewhere on the road to financial ruin right?

After many hours searching the forum and trusted dealer sites, I finally unpackaged my first of a couple of orders today. Some would say slightly anticlimactic but I was pretty pleased with myself as I repackaged it and said farewell as it went to it's next destination.

Without checking my prior posts, anyone hazard a guess what rep they're for? The clue I'll give is that I had a hard choice between German and English daywheels.

Couldn't see a similar thread so for all newbies past and present (you all were once, cummon) post the one that got you started, when and whether it's ever ended !!!!!!!!!!

Betting those are for a IWC 3717 ?

MY frist rep was this one back in January this year and still going strong with 12 reps now (plenty of gens too that predate my rep collecting):

Yeah my first Purchase was from a friend of mine... it was pretty nicely built Seamaster 300, but the movement crapped out so I decided to stay away until 10+ year later I hear about Davidsen/DSN... bought his homage which ultimately led me to RWI and the rest is history...

Probably have about 12+ reps and a couple of gens.

Rolex Submariner with Glass caseback and stainless steel "look" wrapped brass....with of course the worst date magnification you ever seen, was about 0.5x lol. and of course bracelet falling off in the first 45mins of owning it and paying 50 EUROS for it...but after I fixed the bracelet using only a nail filer and a fork it was ready to go !!! (used that watch for swimming and everything, and was very good and water tight and kept excellent time.

Sad I sold that watch, good good memories...(still gotta buy a swiss rep of it now..Rolex Deepsea doesn't do it justice as a homage to that submariner)

very first rep was a crap quartz navitimer...not even the right dimensions.. But hey, that still was fairly good looking and allowed me to preserve a bit my gen speedmaster(that was the goal at the time). Opened the pearly gates of repdom, too! That was back in 2000, I think.

You're too sharp Royster... off they went to Goin today for the IWC 3717. He's gonna service and relume and arrange with Taka for the AR. A nice kevlar strap and clasp is winging it's way to me too.

Entirely possible I may have got a bit carried away !

So while I was waiting for Goin to weave his magic, I had a little browse on Lay's website again...

Outstanding strap on that top Graham there btw.

My first was a $50 Tag Link I got from a shady booth at the mall. I wore that POS for years. Great watch. I think I sold it for like $20 to a buddy. He still has it come to think of it. I must be 15 years old....

My first rep was a bad ugly quartz rolex datejust, I bought in 1990 in Buenos Aires.

The fun thing is that I told to our tourist guide that I bought it as a gen, and payed US$ 1.000,00 for it, she saw that was a rep, bad one, but didn't told me that it was a rep.

I payed US$ 50,00 in it.

Cheers,

Max

My first was one of the very first Noobfactory Milgauss GV from Narikaa in '09.
Ive since sold it, but miss the truly green sapphire (not a colored gasket) and perfect rehaut engraving.
I've probably bought @ 25 reps since then, but only have 9 in my collection of @65 watches now.

My first had to be a DJ of some sort around 1990. My first purchase here was a 16610 from RSH. One of the nicest watches I've had. I kick myself everyday for including it in a trade I made.
