AP Chronopassion 26185TI– The Ultimate Offshore
The Offshore – the Royal Oak on a diet of steaks, cigarettes, whisky, and steroids. Beefier, bigger, bolder, the Offshore is a classic staple of AP and a collectible, with so many variants even seasoned AP connoisseurs would struggle to name them all.
However, in my eyes, one variant stands above the rest, the limited edition Chronopassion, a limited edition for the Paris Retailer. It’s a Titanium model with a chocolate brown dial and classic Offshore styling. All the aesthetic pleasure of the Offshore line, but with the comfort that comes with a lighter watch. What else do you want? This watch eliminated my desire for any other Offshore.
AP to my knowledge has made another Titanium model with a newer movement, the 26238TI with a full Ti bracelet. However, the Chronopassion is the true original Ti offshore.
Charming details I learned to appreciate for this model are the rubber pushers and crowns, they’re just a quirky detail that I love to enjoy. And of course, mine is 01/50, very special.
I never thought I would let go of this model but I’ll be honest now, Offshores are not my style anymore. I've sobered up and realized that I'm neither a athlete, a 8in wrist man, or a rapper. I have worn them less than once or twice a month for the last year and so it’s time to let them go to people who will enjoy it even more than me. I will miss you Chronopassion, and I know I probably will never have the chance to own one again. However, I paid a steep price for this model and I won't sell it at a huge loss due to it's rarity.
