Real bronze on pure time?

You can find some bronze models also at DSN...

If there is demand, you can't avoid that other makers will go with these. And how can we qualify these vintage watches? Still rep's? For some of them, that's not evident, made of rep & gen parts, from different brands, sometimes, no OEM SN, so perhaps aslo an easier way of business with lower risks with customs.

But it's impossible to cope as the dinterest for vintage watches is more and more important.

For the true collector, I think these "simple" vintage style watches can't be compared to the beauties form esdee, for exemple... A nice modded vintage is about $1000, at least.

This was my question earlier, is the DSN real bronze plated? Different alloy perhaps? More copper in color than the gold case pictured on PT.

Probably real bronze plated, but it's never going to look as nice as proper bronze. At least it looks better than the brown/pvd coating that some of the reps have.

Well seems like the mystery is solved - Angus confirmed on RG that his stuff is from River, so everyone's happy now. Probably a good move for River as it expends customer base significantly through exposure in PT site

No it's not identical and I'm sure the versions available on HF (and through a couple of TDs on here) are superior, but that's not really the point as far as I'm concerned.

A couple of guys spent a lot of time, effort and passion bringing these cases to the market place and then some douche ripped them off and started flogging them by the hundred.

Again, I do understand the irony of my irritation, however, the decent versions out there don't cost much more than the mass produced version so I'd just urge anyone in the market for one of these to look a bit further.

Also, to reiterate, nothing against Angus and Puretime, my annoyance is with the person who has knocked these out against the spirit of the work of those on HF.

If you asked every member of this forum what a hornlug was I bet %95 of them would have no clue.

I remember back in the day before Rivers case set came out I contemplated dropping 6k on a bronze hornlug Rolex .618 build by MM.............oh how the times have changed.
