Anybody know how to send money to him via Western Union? Never done a money transfer before and all he sent me was his name and city but on Western Union there's only a space for name. Seems like anyone with the same name in china can just go pick up the money in person...

A lot of our dealers are black marked if you do it online. Its a lot less hassle if you just go to a store that has western union and do it in person.

Thanks for your quick reply, as you can tell I'm very excited about my first replica purchase :) So I go to Western Union and give them name and city and he picks up money. Then I give him my info and after QC photos I get my dream watch?

Our dealers here are all trusted dealers so nothing to worry about when ordering from them. Yes, you do not get pictures of your watch until you pay because they do not have the watches. Once you pay then they go to the factories and markets to find the watches. Nothing to worry about. That's how they all work.

i have purchased several items from three different trusted dealers here and have never had to pay prior to seeing a picture of what i was buying or pictures of different models. This hobby is challenging enough. I refuse to buy a pig in a poke. i may not be able to buy another watch from a dealer here but i will not pay for it prior to seeing a picture of what i am buying. that is just me. i understand they have the right to set their own policies but i have the right to not buy from them.

There is no dealer who will provide pics of the exact watch you will be buying, never was never will be. They can't, they don't have it! No deler carries stock of more than the top dozen or so sellers (Puretime may have maybe the top 80 or so), you can't stock 1000s of watches. I don't know what you meant when you said "or pictures of different models" as Hont has most listed on his site.

You have been here since 2007 so I have no idea why you have such a poor understanding of how it all works.

yes, I have no idea either. I'd like to know what dealer you're using that sends you the qc pics before you pay. It doesn't happen.

Stock also has the risk of being taken. Especially the newbies here like to neglect that the items we are talking about are not exactly conforming to the laws in any country.

I was wrong. according to the discussions here i have never been given photos of the exact watch i was purchasing prior to making payment. what i did receive was pictures of the model or quality of watch i was going to buy. probably a stock photo or one of the model they had sold previously.

i want to apologize for any confusion this has caused. there are individuals on this website that have forgotten more about this hobby than i will ever learn and i appreciate them pointing out my error. that is how i learn.

hontwatch i want to specifically apologize to you, as this is the policy of all dealers i have learned. i want to add hontwatch replied to me timely and politely.

Folks any dealer can get any watch not just what is on his website. What's on his (or her) site is simply a fraction of what is available. The best method is to find a pic of the watch you want (pic can be of the gen or a rep) and email it to the dealer, mention you are a member of RWI and ask if it is available and how much including shipping and all charges. Hont will have his site up again sooner or later but TBH I never use the sites, I just order by email.

It's best to never order off the website without checking with the dealer first, just because it is on the site does not mean it's available. It may have been available yesterday and this morning a wholesaler bought up 500 pieces to send to Russia or where ever. Stock at the markets changes constantly and it's impossible to keep up with what is available and what isn't. Remember there are some 10,000 plus different models and variations* and 100s of 1000s are sold every week. Therefore it is vital to check first. Even then stock can vanish between them checking and you ordering especially on less popular models. This is just part of the game you play when buying illegal goods. So much is available so readily that people sometimes forget they are buying contraband that is just as illegal as cocaine or automatic weapons.

*The classic Rolex Date Just alone can be had in around 150 dials (yes, really!), three bezels, three bracelets or leather, Gold, SS or two tone, 21j, Asian or Swiss ETA movements. You do the math.
