All people involved in any manner with this f*cking company : I hate you and damn you for the 20 coming generations !

Paypal rapes both the buyers and sellers.
I know there is a justice and this croocked company, their croocked shareholders and employees (how can you even look at yourself in a mirror, working for a company with Mafia habits ?!) will once collapse : I will applause and p*ss on your grave !

Rant over.

Thx RWI :band:

I love Paypal, hate it when a Website/Person won't except it. Have used it since 2004 and have never had an issue with it. In my opinion one of the better services on the Web.
Sorry can't agree with you.

Well, can't go back to WU, the only time I tried to use them, I was just kicked :)

Yes, PP is nice, fast and easy, until you try to bring a claim to its end : supposed to get your money back (100 EUR), but they'll find thousands of excuses to reject the refund, because some impossible vouchers (or proofs) are missing.
And of course no way to email them you don't agree.

So : you buy on eBay, the sellers are obliged to use PP (to generate compulsory additional profits), but the buyer is not protected... at all. I've been using PP for many years too, and the 2-3 times I issued a claim, I never saw my money back.

So, yes, they're f*ucking scammers and liars. And I agree with myself :)

A few years back I've been working for an e-business company. These motherf*ckers blocked 15 000 euros for 3 months on our account. We had a fragile cashflow, and my boss had to ask the bank for a loan to pay our salaries.

He tried to contact Paypal about it, but the only answer he'd ever got was "the examination of your account is in progress", even after 2 "mises en demeure". He sued paypal, and won about 2 years later, but only received a 2000 euros compensation. No surprise they don't give a sh*t about the law when the punishment is so low...

What issues have people been having with PP?

I've never had any issues but my only uses of pp have been for Watchuseek or RWI and the occasional ebay buy. What sorts of things does PP do that is problematic? More importantly who's got tips to avoid arguments with PP?

Actually Paypal is supposed to protect the buyer.
So when you're not delivered or delivered with faulty goods, they promise to cover this. That's where they lie : they take ages to examine the problem (if ever) and ask you proofs you can't always supply (in my case a defective -probably fake- Nintendo DS)

To prove it's fake, you need a certificate from an Expert.
To prove it's been sent back to the seller, you need a proof of delivery which is trackable online.
I supplied a proof of shipment (registered mail) with the confirmation mail that the seller got it back. Not enough for them.

Money and defective device have vanished : so I paid 100 EUR for an empty box...

The other usual behaviour is that they will block your account (with money on it of course) at their discretion, if they have any doubt on your activity.

Now, Pix, tell us how you really feel!

There is no end to the poor service stories from PP customers. Do they have any competitors?

I tired to get an account setup with Moneybookers, for example, to but from DSN. I can't figure out how to use it!

Well I once thought MB was an alternative : but it's not as widely accepted, and although I never got into trouble through them, I believe they're not easy as well.

Paypal needs competition : is it possible they don't have any so far ? With all these online real banks ?

That's their strength : you need them, but they don't need you. Frustrating

So far there's no option. I hate that.

Because of the way paypal and ebay have "anonymised" the auction site it's next to impossible to get enough information on your own to leverage your dispute.

Back when ebay user profiles were accessible you could contact a person they previously did business with and ask them to divulge a buyers paypal shipping information thus giving you a real address and name to start with.

If you could get a real address and name paypal would find in your favor and refund the money because they couldn't afford the liability issues dealing with how you got that information. At least that is why I assumed I won the two cases I have filed.

I successfully wont two claims one even involving a replica on ebay and in both cases I got the members real address and name from a previous transaction with another seller.

I got very little objection from the other sellers I asked to provide the information, several did ask why I needed the members information and one previous seller sent it outright with no questions asked, doesn't say much for your privacy with ebay sellers but it saved my bacon!

The single best way to protect yourself is to use a REAL CREDIT CARD to purchase things through paypal you have way more consumer rights with your credit card company than you will ever get through paypal and paypal is much more motivated when you jerk your money back through a CC dispute! I always start a Credit Card dispute the same day as a paypal claim, I also always escalate the paypal claim immediately to a dispute, no point wasting time it only gives the other guy time to transfer money to his bank. The only recourse paypal has when you win a CC dispute is to cancel your account and it's easy to get an account at another bank and setup another paypal account.

Of course it doesn't make loosing your money any easier when it does happen!

I disputed 2 eBay payments, won them both and was refunded. I'm 2-0 with Paypal, so I love them.

Why not switched to Moneybookers?
