Well alright, thanks for the warm welcome… I just want your opinion on the rep, I know that QC wise it’s a GL. Also it’s my first rep, so please bear with me.

QC pics are for you to decide on the watch and Eboy sent you two links to read explaining everything you need to know. If you already know it's going to be a GL then you don't need anyone else's opinions. Enjoy the watch when it arrives and wear it in good health.

Also: QC pics have nothing to do with the question "how close does the watch get to Gen". To answer this question, you have to read the respective discussions in the relevant sub-forums and decide for yourself whether it is enough for you.

QC pics are then there to check if it is a) the watch/version you ordered and b) to check if there are QC issues (e.g. scratches, crooked markers, etc). But this is usually something you can judge for yourself. Even without experience with QC images.

Ok, sorry in that case and thank you for not banning me. I'll know what to do in the future. So if this is still the right place to ask - would you go for the version that's closer to gen - the black 8900 VSF - or is the gold 'passable' enough? If you saw this on the street would you go: "yeah it's fake gold paint"?

You didn't read one word of the links above. There is a ton of information on here if you just take the time to search. It's your money and your decision on which brand, style, factory and TD. No one here is going to spoon feed you the information.

You're the one who doesn't understand. I'm not looking for any spoonfeeding ffs, I already paid for and judged the QC for myself. I'm looking for OPINIONS on this vsf model in general. At first I wanted to also get second opinions on QC, but now I see that's somehow forbidden on this forum.

You know what, I'm curious. WHY is it so wrong to discuss the QC here? We're paying 100 usd or more over non-TDs for the added service of timegrapher pics, easier shipping, better communication and the ability to change to a different model. I'm also asking on here and on reddit because I DON'T WANT TO BE A PAIN IN THE A** THE TD. I keep communication with them straight and to the point and save some extra questions and thoughts for the forum. Is that really so wrong?

I feel like you guys are just being mean for no reason.

There is nothing discussing the model itself and discrepancies between it and gen. I'm not a complete newb, I know about e.g. the presence of the 2nd balance arm on the vsf and just one on the gen, I know about 28800bph on the vsf and 25,200 on the gen, as is supposed to be in modern coaxial movements. Still, there is NO discussion about the Blue Wave model. Only old trading offers. And not much more in the threads about Aqua Terra in general. The subreddit you hate so much has 100 times more threads. I don't really see any in depth discussion of rep movements. The only deep reviews and comparisons are done by TD's like Theonewatches (they also repost those to reddit, how do you feel about that?)

In short, if you guys are so much smarter, then you could show it instead of sh*tting on newbies with passive aggressive gifs.

I've already read it and I personally disagree with this bit:

It's unfair to the folks who have taken the time and effort to learn about this hobby. It's even more unfair to the dealers, who have to individually buy the watches for you, inspect and photograph it, only to have you decide that some tiny imperfection which you never noticed in the first place, renders the piece unacceptable.

Again, we pay a 100 usd+ upmark for the 'privilege' of GLing or RLing a watch based on our personal decision. Sure there's a limit, but if someone is bothered by an (even slightly) crooked 12 index on their SMP they should have a right to discuss it AND rl it. Nothing insulting about it. It's literally REP RESELLERS we're talking about, not some artisans. They're literally businessmen, no one owes them any special treatment. I'm not advocating for RLing over the most microscopic stuff, but what you guys preach is the exact opposite.

Those policies were organically born out of almost two decades of experience, including the good old days before QC even was a thing. It's a privilege that is unfortunately often abused with completely unfounded rejections of perfectly fine watches.

Public QCs in Reddit fashion have made this problem worse at least or may even have created it in the first place.

I trust the admins' opinions here more than your judgement on this particular matter of public QCing.
