Proper AR coating/hue for Skyland Avenger??

So I took my Skyland to the casino last night after cape-codding it and it looked absolutely stunning EXCEPT for the hideous gaudy purple/blue AR coating on it. It makes the watch look cheap and definitely fake.

What is the correct AR color for Breitling, and which modders match the hue??

I am planning on making this the best rep it can be with a re-lume, gen or good quality leather band with Breitling deployant (rep or gen), and a good looking AR'd crystal.
What else cold I do (other than a service?)

Thanks in advance! I love this watch, really bummed that they only have the SA with a white dial (drooled over a GEN skyland avenger white dial in the AD). Super avenger is just too massive for my wrist though :(
Anywhere to source a gen white dial?

I have a source for AR coating that is virtually identical to gen Breitling AR (it took me over a year to figure it out). The problem I have is that I don't know how to remove the crystal from a Skyland (or Seawolf).

If someone knows how to remove (and re-install) the crystal from a Skyland and/or Seawolf without damaging the watch, I'd love to hear about it.

Hmm, ive never seen Breitling AR in person so that probably doesnt help any.
I have heard that it is purplish/blue but how does it compare to rep AR?? This one looks so good to me, until I see reflections in the crystal (which is alot).

If you're really picky...like me... the Rep AR is too blue. Gen AR is more violet and, so appears to reflect less visible light.

skyland has a great ouf of the box AR.

Yes, i have heard this before. Maybe I should just go to an AD and check it out for myself :lolcina:

So, what modders can apply a similar blue/violet AR that isnt so reflective.
I guess my gripe with the rep AR is that it is so damn reflective, and the blue is so bright

I think the first question that needs to be answered is 'can the crystal from a Skyland be removed and replaced without damaging the watch?'. If so, how?

As I said in a previous post, I have a source for Breitling AR, but I can't figure out how to remove the crystal from the Skyland or Seawolf. I've had my BCE crystals coated and they look amazing. I'd like to do the same for my other Breitlings.

So the BCE and Steelfish's crystals can be removed while the Skyland and Seawolf (same case used) probably cannot? Interesting. I was about to buy a Skyland V3 and was planning to reapply AR. I guess that's pretty hard now. Does that mean I cannot also relume? Thanks for reply.

You can relume the dial, that's not a problem. It's easy to get the movement out.
It may be possible to get the crystal out, I just don't know how and I've never heard from anyone who has done it successfully.

In that case, my only option is to buy the skyland v2 with better AR with crystal that cannot probably be removed (as it has not been posted yet and I wouldn't take the chance). Then remove the dial from the back and relume. Seldom discussed here and I wouldn't have known if I didn't ask and post. Thanks much.

If you haven't done it before, I'd recommend having someone else remove the movement and relume the dial. It's pretty easy to mess things up if you don't know what you're doing.

I hope someone will come up with a way to replace the crystal in a Skyland and Seawolf. The rep AR bugs me so much now, that I haven't worn either of those for almost a year.

Yup, I just came from an authorized dealer (nope, I wasn't wearing a rep) and checked the skyland's AR. Quite hard to duplicate without someone doing it 'professionally'.

doesn't make sense to me to AR'd the AR crystal

Why? With exception to lume and maybe subdial texture, the only thing keeping this from being a 1:1 rep is the overly reflective AR coating, it makes an other wise stunning watch look cheap :(

I fall in love with my Skyland every time I put it on, but shortly after all I can notice is the shiny AR :(

So no one has heard of removing the crystal from the Breitling Skylands?? Does anyone know for sure that it can't be removed?

Here's some good news:

It looks like it's possible to remove the bezel (which allows removal of the crystal): http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/128453-fs-breitling-skyland-avenger-case-set/

From what I gather, it comes off using a bezel remover ($175 to $350).

Now we just need to find out if it's possible to reinstalled the crystal and bezel without damaging the watch (and if it's possible, how is it done). Could it be as simple as pressing it back onto the watch??

I sent him a PM asking him if he replaced the crystal himself and if so, how he did it.

He said that he was able to remove the crystal by bending the tabs out of the way. Not a very elegant solution, but I guess it works.
I hope there's a better way.

So this place that you know that can duplicate the breitling AR is it a local place and how much do they charge. I have a super avenger crystal Id like to get done.
