Where did you get this bottle and solution? Also, where can I don’t the service manuals you mention? I’ve never used one and always done these movement by instinct, and I’d bet I’m doing something wrong.

Thank you for all you share, it’s awesome to see and helpful for all of us!
I got my bottle on AliExpress.

The manuals are available from this user… just message him and he’ll send you the link. Very helpful for the 4130 movement.

Ok thanks for the response , but i did some research and this picture got me abit confused because some say it doesn’t have a serial number others say it does
This image is not a 4130 mainplate (even though you got it from a Google search for it)

Compare the balance bridge mounting points with other markings, the 4130 main plate does not have the same.

I type "4130 movement rolex" on google images

And I see a bunch of 4130 movement pictures, my first picture in the gallery (maybe not your first one but will definitely show in your gallery)

If my eyes works correctly, I can see a serial number there in the picture and that it is a 4130 movement and then I scrolled a little bit and I see this

I continue to scroll and I end up on Reddit here

https://www.reddit.com/r/rolex/comments/vic4d8
and I see this

and another one here

Weird that I can see some serial number right? Weird that those serial numbers happen to be at the exact same spot on the mainplate right? I don't know, don't take my word for it

Another thing is that why wouldn't it be no serial number? we are talking about Rolex's caliber here in 2022, how wouldn't they put a serial number on their mainplate so they can track it? for anti-counterfeiting purposes? Isn't that obvious that it should have a serial number?

So the question for the banned member: were the so called "gen mainplate" that he personally held fakes one? or had their serial number scrapped out for whatever reason?

Perhaps old mainplates didn't have serial number? What did they have before introducing the 4130 in 2000 ? The 4030 ! so I type "4030 movement rolex" on google images and I see this

Weird that even 4030 have some kind of serial number

Maybe I'm just a fool

Does it require gen pallet fork and gen escape wheel to run the gen balance bridge and balance wheel?

Wow… ok… so I figured I’d try to use an exacto blade to score. Line across the top of the busted screw to get some purchase with a screw driver. I got things setup under my digital microscope. But as soon as I touched the blade to the top of the screw, it moved!!! The screw was loose in the threaded hole. With a little encouragement to spin with the tip of the blade, I was able to simply unscrew the broken bit. Easy as pie. I’m kinda feeling dumb for having disassembled the entire movement only to have the solution take less than 30 seconds. Sigh. Learning moment I guess.

sorry about the crappy picture. The memory card for the microscope was in my computer… so just grabbed my phone to get the victory shot.

now I just need to re-assemble this thing. But I’m thinking I might as well clean / service it while I’ve got it apart.
I got the same problem on a 4130 clone. Two methods worked for me, though I will stay with the first one if possible :)

1. https://www.bergeon.swiss/07-potenc...a-enlever-les-vis-cassees-avec-2-broches.html You need the right driving pins (Bergeon and right size/diameter) and while using the tool, the pins and the watch part must be aligned to avoid breaking the pins.
The screw I managed to remove with this was one of those holding the balance bridge on the main watch plate.
2. I tried to extract the screw using a chemical reaction between aluminium potassium sulfate dodecahydrate (alum) and carbon steel. Alum will corrode the threads made of carbon steel. I followed https://wahawatches.com/how-to-remo...the part with the, stuck screw is very obvious
The screw removed with this was the one holding the stud on the balance bridge. The obvious drawback of this is the time needed ...

Thanks for the solutions. Option 2 sounds intense. Fortunately for me all the “chinesium” screws I’ve broken since this have also been loose enough to reverse out using a pin or blade.

Hi Dogwood,
congratulations on your work.
I will also have it done in the future.
In your opinion is it possible to install the gen parts containing the engravings (chronograph bridge, automatic bridge).
Finally finding a gen plate, could it be used?

In fact let me say that all original 4130 and 4030 movements have a serial number.

As far as I know the Dandong 4130 is compatible with all gen parts. So you should be able to swap in whatever gen parts you’d like to.

I’ve not installed other gen movement parts but can confirm that a gen balance and bridge are plug n play and the movement runs beautifully with them.

Would you recommend changing out all the screws for Gen screws?

Little tip: the new springed chronograph seconds wheel doesn’t require the friction spring under it anymore. Great work nonetheless!
@dogwood
can I ask you which unnecessary wheel @Nikz19 was referring to? I would also like to put the 4130-820 Liga wheel for the chronograph seconds, have you noticed any improvements? have you had problems with the wheel's ruby on the chronograph bridge? have you had problems inserting the chronograph seconds hand? are the diameters the same? I have a dd4131 and in theory these components should not have been updated from the 4130, so I would like to try, since my chronograph hand jumps very noticeably...
