There is a difference between banter made in jest in the Reported thread for example, and this one where the trolling intent is pretty clear.
It was clearly "casual racism" used as agression and laced with innuendo. @rolex4me is reading it right, and many others too.

There is a Chinese buffet near me now that you mention it. They have a mean fried rice but I am more partial to shrimp lo mein.

I don't see what the big surprise is. You can't honestly expect a watch plated in china not to wear, tarnish, flake, or whatever else happens to them.
There are skilled platers who can re-plate, but it's not cheap.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I would never own a plated watch because I consider the finish temporary, as I wear the hell out of my watches and don't want steel showing through and looking like shit. If you're careful though, a quality plating job should look good for a reasonably long time. One from china though? Unlikely.
