My PPF arrived earlier, and now it's time to make it fit my wrist.

I was expecting some direction arrows inside the bracelet to indicate the way in which the pins come out - but there isn't....!

Can anybody please let me know how to proceed? I have the necessary tools but don't want to blunder away in ignorance - any advice sincerely appreciated.

Many thanks!!

Yeah it uses pins. You can usually eyeball which side it is supposed to come out from by looking at the ends of the pin. The end that goes in is more rounded and sharper. A pin remover will probably be a good idea considering the mirror finish on the bracelet sides, especially with how tight these rep bracelets can get.

IME forcing the pins through the wrong end will leave you with a useless thinned pin, so if the pins doesn't budge even with some force, an oil bath will be the safer option.

LPT: Use some non super sticky 3M tape on the bracelet side to avoid scratching. Push a hole through the tape to work your way with the removal pin.

I have not sized my PPF yet but on other Nautlius i never checked for a pin direction. they go in and out both ways, its the little tube you find inside that keeps them locked...

To be on the safe side my PPF is having an overnight oil bath, I'll look at it tomorrow. I couldn't easily make out an obvious "rounded / sharp" side - but the comment above about bi-direction might be applicable?? Thanks to all.

Did some reading and from what i gather Keylog74 is right, they come out from either way and is secured by a sleeve system. Apologies for the misinformation! I assumed it'll be similar to the sytem used in some aftermarket bracelets i had.

By way of an update, my bracelet is now succesfully re-sized, so thanks again for all of the comments.

It was actually very easy. I gave the watch an overnight oil bath, and used the appropriate items from this set of tools:

https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07G2QJS4T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

(I did already have a similar set of tools to this from a cheapo ebay watchmakers kit, but the pin punches were too thick to fit into the sub 1mm holes on the Nautilus bracelet - the punches from the set I bought above were perfect)

The pins DO come out in either direction, and there is a sleeve that sits inside the middle part of the link that provides the tension to hold the pin in place. Just be careful not to lose the sleeve when you remove the pin...!

No dramas at all, and now this beautiful watch sits perfectly (and very very comfortably) on my wrist.

I'm a happy chappy.

Agree with the above. For a newbie, easy to loose the sleeve, but resizing is no issue if you have the tool to remove the pins.

Wish PPF did a half link as the band gets a little tight for me at certain points during the day.
Adding an extra full link means that the watch has too much play on my wrist.

Does the Gen have half link or full link?

Full link but noticed that 1.5 link can be purchased in Gen from pf. It’s a bit pricey though.

Question here. I have the same issue. When removing a link ( a matte and a shiny part I consider 1 link), its too tight, when I leave one in, its too loose. With roles, you can fix this very easily. how do I do this here?

I have the same problem. Have a mind to swop the bracelet to any after market leather straps. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Swapping from steel bracelet to leather strap requires conversion end links. Check out, https://www.topwatchparts.com and search for Patek Philippe Nautilus conversion links and leather strap, not sure about the quality of the strap though. Hope this helps.

Here's an interesting thing I noticed when deciding which bracelet to keep, the PF or PPF:

They don't fit exactly the same even with the same number of links. Because the gap between the links underneath the clasp is about 1/2 a link difference in space on the PF, but PPF doesn't have a gap.

Therefore, if you're off by 1/2 a link space, you could switch to use either a PF or PPF bracelet. YMMV, but this made the decision easy for me due to fit, even though I like the PPF bracelet's finish better.

Bumping this post from the past. So I got the Nautilus 5726 from MaryWatch (RWG TD) who sized the bracelet to my 6.5" wrist. Unfortunately she took out too many links and now I have to re-install 1 or 2 links.

Boy these pins are hard to knock out. What a crazy system.

One came out with the sleeve still inside the link, another came out with the sleeve sitting on the end of the pin. I can't seem to push this tiny sleeve down to sit in the middle of the pin, so I could push the pin into the link.

People are suggesting a lubricant soak. That won't make the pins and sleeves too slippery so they won't hold the links together?

Thanks in advance.

I managed to get the pin out using a hammer but I can't get the pin and the small sleeve back in to close the link? Can you tell me how you do it?

My 3kf 5711 v2 arrived today, and I have adjusted the link length, I can confirm it is also a sleeve/ pin system, which the pin has no direction requirement.

Oil them a bit with baby oil.
