i have a plan for my blue flake... something I haven't seen yet.
but first, an update on the 7032 saga. For those just tuning in, it's a legendary DW case and it has a gen. Crystal. I received a sweet bezel from Jensen but it wasn't fitting (too big on the ID). He exchanged for another he measured for me that sounded perfect, it it wasn't... also too big- or so I thought.
I shipped the watch head to Jensen to see it first hand. Then I learned something about the 7032 case. Apparently it has a step around the od of the rehaut so the Crystal sits up about a mm higher than flat on the deck. Jensen sent me a photo of his case which has this step. The crystal will sit higher and the bezel will "grab" the Crystal like it should.
He he only asks $700 for his mid case... as tempting as that is (not), I decided to make a step ring that will fit on my case and line everything up. That may take a while but that's my plan. I may make a few so DW owners take note...
On on an unrelated note, he may have the best out of the box early sub case. I'll know for sure tomorrow. If they look the way I think no they do, I'll be ordering yet another high dollar 5512 case... or buying a gen 5512 which may be cheaper at this point.
