Here is the rundown gang. Up first we have the new jkf insert as new on my franken 94010 build. Obviously too new for even a 1980's build. Going to pop it out and age it.

At the far right is the darkest new offering that Clark has. In sunlight it has a purple cast to it. Closest to camera on left is the insert that was pictured on my Comex diver. The insert just opposite is the black one from the 94010 that I just aged and between them is a jkf I faded last week. (It didnt turn as blue)

BB is one of finest reps I've ever seen. I just wish it didn't look like a plate on the wrist. It wears SOOOO large . Few men have the hand size to pull it off.

75% of adults use some kind of eye correction. A 42mm watch is the "new small" - with so many oversized Panerai, Breitling&others around
Imho the BB is just a good looking, nostalgic and clever choice, rep or gen. Good allrounder, many of the Rolex-benefits without the stigma and the price-tag, service-cost and serviceability of an ETA almost anywhere. It gets more and more difficult to find that combination on a brand-watch. Omega was a contender but isn´t anymore with the non-availability of parts for watchmakers. That will be some expensive fun in 10 years from now.

Here you go Jim I have another that was on my jkf vintage Tudor that just arrived. I will age it today and see if it is a consistant result that these turn this color...

The color is great! I'm most intrigued by the fonts. Not perfect but very nice!

@Hugop that 9401 is new enough that I'd put a gen service insert on it and swap the Pearl (or loose it) as the thinner font suits that watch in my opinion.

Has as anyone tried to order a pile of inserts yet? The colors going all over the map is actually quite gen-like and the fonts look convincing enough for early builds. Very interesting...

Oh, and check my black 9411. That has the original insert- a "Mk. II" I believe it is referred to.

fonts not not quite as bold or tall, but bolder than the service inserts.

Perfect call on the 94010 Jim. That dial/movement setup was in a reshaped jkf 1680 but I reassembled it as 1680 to buy this one with the Tudor engravings. I had a gen service insert on thatbbuild and it was perfect with that dial! Need to find another.

Not aware of anyone on the inserts but they have the right color mix to make that gen looking blue!

Also they chalk up a bit from the bleach. Once I reach the desired color I rinse them then polish with a q-tip and a mild one step auto wax. The wax puts the depth back into the color.

[MENTION=84615]J!m1[/MENTION] I took a look at you gen 9411 and it is a great looking watch. Congratulations! I am sure you need no encouragement to hang on to that one.

That is one of my favorite insert fonts. Very similar to the gen on my MBW 1680. The serifs are very nice!

He is doing (finished) a 1-68 C&I rivet bracelet for me as well. That is for the 5512. A true Steve McQueen- late '67 5512 with a C&I rivet bracelet!

Here is my 9411 in the daylight Jim. Whats your opinion on the insert color vs gen now? I have seen quite a few gen inserts this color selling for ridiculous asking prices on the rlx forums!

Haha thought so! Its funny that the super franken 5512 you have for sale was your "try watch". Thats awesome!
