Love your gen/rep comparisons buddy, thanks for posting them. Easy to see the flaws in the ZF in these macro pics, still a lovely watch though and I love mine. Be great to see a gen/ylf comparison too if you can do one.

I?ve owned gen and rep. The gen is an amazing quality rep, only issue I had was that one of the pushers broke and fell off. It was easily fixed by a watchsmith.
Obviously a must is to change the strap.

the numerals and hands on the rep are yellow gold. is it right, that IWC uses for his portuguese a special IWC rose gold on the hands and numerals ?

The pics are all distorted. It's like they resized/stretched them to fit a window, the watches look like eggs

I believe both are yellow gold. Main difference is the gen numerals seem to have rounder edges. A softer appearance.
Hands are very much spot on.

Guess you're right. I own two gen Portuguese chrono and had a rep of the same model. Not in gold so I couldn't know.
Rep is incredibly well made, only thing my OCD could not unsee was the not so soften edges of the numerals.
The rep I had, also had slightly larger pushers, but I would happily buy a rose gold one, as gen is to expensive compared to SS.

The rep I had was 7 years ago, so I don't honestly don't know the factory. I remember it being a bit thicker thou. I liked it so much that I sold that rep ant time later purchased my first gen iwc.

Yes its a A7750 movement which is a copy of the ETA 7750

The gen has a misprint on the last "S" of "SWISS" ????.
