The blue bezel insert was too dark. Got one with a brighter blue. Still not close to the gen but a bit better.
Still looking for someone who could make me a ceramic one and a better white dial. Mine is a bit dull.
Of course it would be better if a factory decided to re-release a ploprof rep V3, but I'm dreaming...

Where did you source the bezel inserts and ive been asking the question on RWG regarding the face down in solvent to remove old inserts and didnt get positive answers. Was it really that easy and i take it just in 2-3 mm of solvent? 24hrs?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Regards

Hi,
Yes 30 minutes in solvent and bingo...
I think I used some kind of label remover or 3M paint solvent.
The insert came from a guy in Spain ([email protected]).
I'd like to find a better quality source but was not successful so far. Let us know if you find someone that can make a ceramic or aluminium one.
What we need is a removable bezel, like the Formex Reef.

Do you have a picture or the steeldive insert you removed, does the solvent do any damage in as much as csn they be reused. Did I read correctly they are only 1mm thick?
Your whole post has been an education.
Thanks

Zero damage. And yes 1mm thick. And flat. I don’t understand why Steeldive doesn’t sell them, it would be easy money.

You are fantastic. I have just emailed the person in the link you supplied but i have also seen bezel inserts on Aliexpress 32mm x 41mm ceramic and aluminium. Maybe not as nice as you would see on a ploprof but ive only done a quick look.

Ok, i didn't realise the tolerances would have been that tight. I may just stick with your guy then.
Cheers

Actually your correct, if steeldive made more dials in different colours they would corner the market. Or make the bezel to take 32x41. That would be too easy though wouldn't it. Lol

Here’s my steeldive with India Facebook guy dial. I just bought another from AliX and will be looking for a cool dial for it.

Was that Seikonda doing the blue one? Can you confirm the dial size that you have in your steeldive please. Thanks

In fact I would be interested to know if these AliX bezel inserts would fit ? Can someone order these 41x32mm inserts and try ?

Ive just bought 2 bezels and 2 dials from a member over at RWG that is the goto guy for Ploprofs that have come out of a steeldive and they do indeed measure 41mm x 32mm. Im going to send him my steeldive that i have on order for him to give to his guy to do his mods to. You obviously want the Omega dials which ive bought as i have 2 dials coming from Seikonda hopefully when he ships this week. I'll keep you posted.

Hummm, so any Seiko Samurai bezel would fit ? Except that the one I've seen on AliX seems to be sloped. not flat. But hard to say from the photos taken from above. And the specs never mention thickness...I'm tempted to give it a try.
