So basically don't say shit on anyone's sales thread on a counterfeit watch forum because there are some people that probably won't like it?

Last time I checked I was a grown-ass man, who served my country and have developed a deep affection for replica watches which helps my PTSD by taking my mind off of events I have experienced. When I say "If only I had the cash" I am fantasizing about the details and work that went into developing, creating, and building something I am passionate about. It's day-dreaming like that, that keeps me from putting a bullet in my skull some days so I couldn't give a rare **** about what someone else besides a mod and the seller thinks about what I post on a sales thread.
Hi Repfreak83.
No that's not the point of this thread.
Although there are some members who are irritated by 'wish I had xxxxxx' comments, it does not interfere with sales of watch unnecessarily.
We all respect armed service men such as you who's given so much for the country.
I'm sure you've read the whole comments in this thread ... most of us are irritated by comments that discourages a legitimate sale by thread crapping or more precisely drive people away from the sale by 'uncalled for' negative comments.

Other form of thread crappings, I can put up with. most are just jokes.

And by the way,

Wish I had
Wish I didn't spend all my money
Etc etc... are in my opinion just indirect admiration for the watch, not intended to thread crap.

I'm interested in this model of thread, but I didn't read it because I heard a different factory is making a new one. GLWS!

Simple scenario. If you have a shop selling stuff, would you like a-holes walking around and telling potential customers, 'Hey dont buy this. Its cheaper next door.'

Don't think op meant indirect admiration to be an issue. I would think that most Buyers are actually lurkers and behind the scenes. Certain points are legit, like new versions out and if price points are above what people could get from TD. Possibly the release of wholesale prices gives m2m sales more reason to compete. It's basically the same conditions, no responsibility over customs and guarantee of movements. What irks me the most is unclear payment conditions. Like what this covers and what not. If anything were to change, sellers should state flat prices for

1. Local shipping plus pp fees and watch
2. Worldwide tracked shipping with pp fees

many times I've paid and seller did not take into account pp fees and I had to top them up on my end.
It annoys me the most when I'm expected to pay more after I thought I've finalized the all in charges.
in addition, some stated ridiculous pp fees which were 10% the asking price. Which was complete bs.
wont go into details, pricing is one matter, but bs hidden charges are another thing all together that irks me more.

All I'm saying is that a majority of the things I know about reps (and it isn't much) are directly from sales threads. When I'm sitting there hemming and hawing, about to put down some hard earned dough on a rep and a more experienced guy is pointing out things on the piece or saying it's cheaper elsewhere, he/she just saved me $ and possibly some regret. Because if I find out I got ripped off, oh brother is there going to be a problem!

Also, I am an active member on other Rep forums but made an account here due to the fact the dialog here is very opened and the mods are some of the top that I've seen: I have never seen threads get nuked/problems handled so quick as I have here on RWI. I have faith in the mods and you more experienced guys to sometimes look out for newer guys like me just as was done for you when you were getting started in this hobby.

And Wooky, I'm not looking to tug at anyone's heart strings with some Saving Private Ryan story I respect your opinion on the subject and know that if I had an issue I could PM a guy like you for help if need be...but what is thread-crapping to you, does sometimes help me and I'm sure as I grown in this hobby, I am probably going to get tired of it as well.

+1

For a Noob member like me, it is really good to, if some experts point out the difference between a bargain and bullshit.
But in a positive way, and about obvious flaws, that a noob maybe does not see.
Not about some hairline scratches or something.
In my opinion, a sales thread is a bit of a discussion too, of course the seller makes the rules, but if you ask some questions about the quality, or point out obvious flaws, this isn´t crapping to me, it is about honesty to the other members, who may not see the problems, and are dissapointed after the buy.

But that are just my thoughts about it.

Informative, well meaning guidance = not thread crapping.
When I said 'thread crapping' , I meant 'real crappy comments' that fires up hatred towards the commenter by the seller. ;-)

Like the above link, $200 for a defective watch?!! Yes ofcourse nothing wrong with comments of caution.
I'm talking sales thread where seller discloses every little detail about the watch and sets the price very reasonably and gets comments like " that looks so fake".

I've seen an IWC sales thread recently.. it was a portuguess and was in perfect condition. As new. Truly beautiful piece. And one OCD guy comes along and says very passionately every little details that's even slightly different to gen piece. Things that can only be seen with electronic microscope! Does it help the community from buying a wrong watch? No. It was the only version and best version being made.
Does it help the sale? No.
Does it do this community any good? No.
Does it hurt the OP's feeling? Yes
Did he sell the watch? No.
Did it boost the crapper's ego? Most definately at the honest seller's expense

My last comment on a sales thread next door was that one of the two watches being sold as gen ETA movements was in fact a clone. And I got called out by the seller for thread crapping.

Not that it bothered me.

I also think that's acceptable. I don't consider that thread crapping.

Maybe we should be like WUS and disable comments in the sales section. Questions could be asked by PM if you have a serious intent to buy.
I personally strongly dislike the WUS rule, but I think threadcrapping comments should just be deleted.

I'm stressing a particular type of comments where the commenter does not intend to be informative nor would have had slightest interest of the particular watch.

Just shows up and leave a comment like "i wouldn't buy it if I were you" on someone's sales thread is a pure sabotage. Don't you think?
Even just fighting and arguments on my sales threads that was barely related to me or the watch led to me missing out on a sale. The stuff said in threads really affects the way your watch looks to potential buyers.

But yours is a legit comment to discourage people from being scammed. You should've educated him what the dictionary says about 'tread-crapping'. ;-)
