I'm going to ask you the standard question we ask everyone asking about in-person rep purchases in Bangkok, Beijing, Macau, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Phnom Pen, Seoul, Tokyo or Istanbul.

Will you be 110% able, without ANY doubt whatsoever, to distinguish a very good mid-tier $390 Submariner from a high-end $480 one?

If the answer is "no, but with 109% sureity" I can already sent you a signed certificate saying "This is to confirm that Mr. @121traffic has been ripped off at the local counterfeit market of [PUT CITY HERE]". 😆

Oh, I'm not the one going to Vietnam though. I was ripped off the old-fashioned way: on the Internet. 😂

Speaking of experience in this matter and someone who has traversed through SEA from MBK to Greenhills to Ben Thanh - like others have echoed. Can you look at a watch and tell what factory it's from? If not don't bother save your money. HCMC rep dealers will charge you 100% markup if you are clueless, be prepared beforehand to know baseline prices from our TD such as from Steve, and prepare to haggle.

If you don't know the language either - you will be taken on for a wild ride.

There are many dealers in HCMC and Thailand due to the proximity to China but there is no standard practice. I saw them peddle Daytonas from CLEAN at 1300 usd. I've seen ZF 116500 sold as Clean 116500 - a profit of 40% for the dealer on top of the markups they add.

I saw many reselling ARF as Clean GMT and impossible to tell unless you know the replica game and the subtle details of ARF and Clean and recognizing DD3285 vs VR3285.

How about reselling a EWE Datejust as a Clean? Can you tell the difference? I would bet 60-70% of menbers here would struggle.

Basically if you do research and are well armed you will be fine. But if you are clueless and the kind of person that can't do their own QC or don't know subtletites of a model, forget it.
