We should distinguish between a NICE rep and a SUPER rep.
Bear in mind the display caseback and read a little about Fliback movements
Even the more expert members are asking for general consensus before giving a rep the Suoer rep status
That said, PAM 253 H maker is one of my preferred PAM reps, but never a Super rep under our current and accepted criteria
Anyway, as a subjective and personal matter, you are free to follow them or not

The gen PAM 243 1950 case 1000m Submersible was a newly introduced watch for 2006 I-series. The PAM 243 replaced the now discontinued PAM 087 1000m Submersible. The PAM 087 was affectionately referred to as the 'tuna can' because of its sheer weight and thickness. The PAM 243 1950 case of 44mm made of SS feels like it has a more distributed an even-weighted feel as compared to the PAM 087. The PAM 243 is incredibly comfortably, sporty and unique looking and the newly styled ridged rubber sport strap (previously only available on the 47mm sport models like the PAM 194, PAM 187 and Slytech models) is soft and comfortable. It has unidirectional bezel Egiziano style, skeleton hands, automatic movement, small seconds @9, a date window @3 with cyclops and helium valve @9.
First years productions were fitted with Tritium dials, but last years Panerai introduced Luminova dials. Tritium dials lume has vintage character and ecru-brownish colour that changes over time, becoming darker and more brownish. For replicas J-series dial should be marked T SWISS MADE T tritium dials and have vintage ecru-brownish colour. PAM 243 aged Tritium looks like a warmer version of PAM 243 Luminova

Were you referring to the J series? I couldn't tell, I wonder why.
As for the PAM253, it has never been classified as a super-rep, only a first class rep even if you tried to look into the guide 100 times over. Hence my clarification on what version you were referring to and the review classifying each watch as a super rep.

Damn. I was just looking at your post on the PAM682. Might not be a super rep but it looks good!
Unfortunately the display caseback does leave some inaccuracies of the look of the movement visible, plus as some members have mentioned there might be some thickness differences with the caseback and possible crystal distortion issues so that rules out the watch becoming a super rep. It does look good though.

I've been looking for super reps of the non-submersible 1950's, the ones with the cushion case and dome crystals, but the only ones I can find on this forum are for the 47mm Fiddy. Am wondering if any updates have been made to the collective knowledge on this forum on excellent Luminor 1950 options on the market.
It's odd that only the original Luminor non-1950 models are popular in the rep market because the 1950's designs seem to be the direction that Panerai appears to have focused on at least in the past several years.

First one that comes to mind are the 1312, which I'm seeing shared on this forum that the V6 and ZF are two options. I have the V6 version coming in later this week; decided to go with this one after reviewing available pictures and qc from a TD for both. Not a lot of information was available for these models except that the similar 312 reps were barred from super rep status because of open backs.
Decided to go with the 1312 despite the lack of information for it like the non-1950 Luminor reps because of the preference for the cushion shaped body.

Can be considered as super rep any of the VSF Pams with the new p9000 v2 superclone (pam359, Pam382, pam388, pam389, pam498, pam505)? New superclone is close enough to the Gen and also has Gen functions. For example, pam382 kw /v6f which was fisrt class rep high level according to ale's guide. Newest model is as good as kw, plus has better lugs, color of bezel pearl and more accurate movement (factory claims that is more than 95% accurate).

Super helpful! I got my eyes set on a PAM 217 for a while now. I need to read up more on this forum and then hopefully I can have one for myself!
Well, you'll have to get the watch on M2M as they've been out of production for a few years already from any of the factories that made them.
