i figured that Pimlico but from the photo posted couldnt quite work out what he saw. I imagines the panerai pattern was too shiny? I have to admit looking at my gen buckle im struggling to tell them apart....
The tolerances are not very good and the font is way too thick. Are you sure you have a gen?
That is a very good question. I bought it as a gen awhile back (at the time you had your original comparison up and it looked nothing like the rep). Now, im not so sure.

The font... Ok I get it now. I had to buy a rep to compare but now I see the difference. The weight as well.
Btw there is a guy on Australian eBay selling pretty amazing rep ones for like $30US (with a rubbish strap). Apart from the font they look great (no idea on durability yet) but they do feel a lot lighter.

No, they are fake. Font is way too big.
