Its the angle of view - if the cyclops is fat on top, the date will look low. Same with L/R - if the cyclops is fat on the right, date will look left in the window.

OPs REP vs GEN
the color temperature of the gen pic here is completely whack. the true gen blue looks very purlpley and the red is cranberry pinkish. the rep bezel pictured here looks nothing like gen.

Great photos review! OPs photos do have some color saturation so it’s hard to really say compared to gen. Can you now post the QC photos since you already have it in hand?

Maybe get the vintage 1965 gmt will be better as they have this handmade version which looks more like the gen vintage. White the new gmt 2 pepsi ceramic wise, not so fast i guess.
