KW 217 is really really an impressive watch imo. It has that amazing GEN feel.
I just recently got my KW 217 and its fantastic....I compared it with my completely Vac modded Noob 127 and its at par, in fact surprisingly better than that.
The crystal distortion is very very Gen like and way better than Noob. So, anybody on the fence, I would recommend go for KW and you wouldn't be disappointed.

KW 217 is my favorite historical Pam rep. It gets more wrist time than my gen 422!

interesting "elusive 1"
one of my grains is the 217 & my only "real" watch is a 422.....
Did you have any mods done or straight out of the box....?.... Who was your dealer?

straight out of the box on a panatime "Desert dweller" gold sueded strap that has now changed to brownish. I got it from M2M sales section over here.

The 217 has a very "gen" ish feel. The crown guard lever snaps in place very precisely and it actually pushes the crown in, just like on a gen Pam. The winding is not as smooth as my 422, but I think it's because of the 6497 movement versus the P3001.

Just received my kw 217. Many thanks to Polonus and Ale for their depth of knowledge. Quick question. I find it a bit awkward winding this watch. The crown seems smaller than my 372 and it being on the left side makes it more difficult to wind. I wear it on my left wrist. Any tips?

I wind mine upside down off the wrist before I put it on -- just like winding a normal watch.
