The granularity on the dial is awesome!

These dang high quality Panerai reps are killing my PayPal account!

Amazing review Polonus! I have just received mine. I will be comparing it to the gen in a review soon. I agree with every observation you have made!

This is awesome. From casual observation I would have picked the rep over gen in terms of overall look. It looks nicer to me from the pic.. The crown and cg are just nicer looking on the rep. As someone pointed out, the crown and cg can technically be a none issue if it was sent for service and both items replaced with a modern replacement. Thus, being called out will be nearly impossible unless the CB is opened.

They nailed the most important part which was the dial.. Just scary how close.. Btw, being tritium the indices color would also be a none issue because of the varying range of the lume aging..

Has anyone taken the bezel off yet? I wonder if it has the same cheap nylon ring ratchet system as the gen PAM025 for example. The rep is probably of higher quality I guess :D
Ordered mine yesterday :)

The movement looks miles better than the P9000 decoration some of the Lum Sub reps have. Although in solid caseback situations it wouldn't matter.. How do these movements fair against the decorated ones? Seems the general experience is rotor noise etc. What about this one?

It's an asian 7750 without chrono module.
Not much to say about it... The reversing wheels can cause problems in some cases. Very good and reliable movement in my eyes!

To all who found their bezels misaligned: the bezel construction is a friction cap:

Poor quality plastic/nylon that wears out then the bezel slips around easily...

The left hand ring clicks into bezel and the right hand fits into a channel in the case around the crystal. Snaps tight and feels secure when new once it's worn out it feels v insecure so I have replaced both on my gen 087 and 064

With regard to the worn end mill, they do make radiused end mills for the very purpose of what is pictured. A worn end mill would give a very poor finish. So it's my opinion, they weren't cheap, they intended for this in the machining process by using a radiused end mill.

Thanks a lot for this info!
The rep ratchet is made just how I thought and much more reliable than gen imo :D
Install a gen 7750 and this watch is of better quality than gen! Lol :)
