Hi guys.

I sold a gen cartier watch on the bay. It was sized really small (5 inches) with no extra links., which I disclosed in the listing.

It sold for AUD$850 and I shipped it out diligently two days after the payment cleared. Item was delivered yesterday (in France) according to tracking. Buyer emails me tonight asking where it is, I tell him tracking shows it's been delivered and 2 minutes later he escalates to a dispute saying the item is not received.

I've shows photos of me packaging the watch, photo of the address on the front of the package/my address on back of package, copy of receipt screenshot from Australia Post tracking saying "delivered". I put in a note about the timeline.

Is there anything else I can do to cement my case?

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but either the watch has been swiped by the delivery man, delivered to the wrong person/address or the guy received it and is disputing it anyway. I can't think of a fourth option.

Such a PITA

I know the rules seem to vary from country to country a bit? But for canada and US when the value is over $700 US (I think) you will have to show signature required in order to have sellers protection. Did you opt for signature required?

@Nivka The only thing I can think of is for you to contact the delivery service and ask for additional confirmation, but the tracking alone should be enough...

Can you tell who signed for it?

Not from the information I have available atm. I guess the delivery company would have the signature on file, but I don't even know which company that is. Knowing PayPal they'd probably expect me to chase it up.

I've heard as a rule they tend to side with the buyer, which is why im sweating on it.

I just don't know what else I could have done. If they side with him, what's to stop anyone just buying a nautilus and saying it never arrived and then getting your money back via dispute?

I'm in France, if you PM the buyers name, his street address and the tracking number I'll have a look how/who delivered it.

I can't imagine that PP will side with the buyer if you can show you sent it to the correct address as provided by the buyer and that the package was signed for at that location.

Yes this, and it's more than a little suspicious that he contacts the seller on the day it was delivered to ask where his watch is . . .

Maybe you should just send @tripdog over to the shipping address to bust a cap in the buyer's ass.

@Nivka ... I'm in France too and can do the same ... depending on the town you sent the watch.

I smelled a rat when he filed a complaint 12 days after I marked it sent, saying it hadn't been received. That was over the Christmas break too. Very unrealistic expectations.

Ahhh Tucker you always find the fast solution, it may be indictable but still a solution nevertheless 10 out of 10 for trying lol.

@Nivka I truly hope that this works out well, it looks to me you have all the evidence bar the signature which I would be on to EBay to chase up asap, I presume you used their mostly useless courier service.

Thanks for looking out for a fellow member, but I'll leave it in Paypals hands. It's still possible this guy doesn't have the watch and feels ripped off too. It wouldn't be fair to share his details if he's potentially innocent.

Every little helps. When they see what you have gathered they will know you are not a scammer.
