Payment Confusion

Im obviously new to this but had a question regarding making payment. I found a TD from the trusted list that had the watch I was looking for. I messaged them with the appropriate questions and they promptly responded back with the answers. I decided to purchase and registered with them through there site. Once I got to the payment portion, they instructed me to log into another "dummy" site, order bogus parts that totaled the amount of the watch purchase, and pay for them on that site. This did not seem right and after reading reviews of the "dummy" site that stated it was likely a scam, I decided to not purchase.
Do all dealers use these "dummy" accounts? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

We are in the FFF and also as long at it’s genuine, objective feedback with evidence, it’s interesting for members to know

Common practice if you are using a credit card... just be sure you ONLY use links from RWI TD section..better even if you WA or email them first anyway...

Thanks, I apologize for my noobness, I'm still getting my feet wet. The TD was Intime and I think it was Ryan that i was communicating with. I did my research, through the forum, and felt comfortable with them up until that happened. Through all of my reading, I didn't come across anything about "dummy" accounts and it threw me for a loop.

Maybe that’s because you wanted to pay with credit card, as mentioned above

If you pay with Wise or bank transfer or crypto, it’s usually much more straightforward

lol the watch isn’t going anywhere today probably.We can tell you what the processes are, but only you can decide what payment forms are right for you- I wouldn’t have gone ahead with what you’re describing, either. It’s important to find a method you’re comfortable with. And the ‘noobness’ you apologized for was just not knowing something and asking the question in an appropriate place and then being a good listener with the answers provided. I would say that you’re doing really well here, and if you get certified and become a supporter (35 bucks total) you’ll be everybody’s favorite noob AND stop seeing ads on the site. What you should know is that the major card networks screen intensively for illicit transactions. A payment to a random dodgy account in China from US for a rep watch will be blocked, and everyone in the chain will be in a world of hassle

Dealers sometimes use very shady payment processors based in Russia, which is now no longer available and where anyway the card numbers ended up on the darknet an hour later…

A cc payment is always linked to a goods description behind the scenes. Using a dummy goods site is a clever workaround

With Wise, you do a plain money transfer unlinked to goods. Same for Western Union

I use a double layered method myself.
I preload Wise with the amount using a one time e-card, then I pay with the Wise balance

This way, my personal cc is not in the wild
