on hardware a copyright is not enough ,

thats why there are design patents . however all you need to do is change 1 design feature and neither copyright nor design patent protects . copyrite DOES protect the name Panairi and logos. I have never used either of these two but always went for a 17 year patent in multiple countrys . writeing the claims and exclusions are where the skill and creativeness helps . I have multiple patents in several disaplines :) never had one challenged . thats a good patent , because approx, 80 % of challenges are suscessful on some level , either limiting your claims , or setting aside the patent . in todays politically/legal climate , dictated by the lawyers , a patent is only a license to sue .
thats why the patent office has issued so many questionable patents in recent years. there are other ways to protect things , not all desireable

You're confusing copyright, trademark and patent law. The three are very, very different.

how many patents do you have pug ? law is not my strong point , inventiveness and design is . but i know enough to p[rotect myself:)
