Panerai 587 new release

tried to find out more about the 587 releases.

It seems like there are 3 versions on the market now:

Q SF - "Superclone"
-small cannon pin
- crown looks closer to case (more like original)

Q V6F - reg. clone 6497 hw
-nicer cannon pin
- crown not flush with case

KW Version
- cannon pin looks like V6F
- crown not flush with case

I was just trying to compare the pictures on pure time & kw homepage which is hard since the angle does not match up good enough to really compare the details. I am not even trying to compare the dials based on those pictures.

Did anyone here buy one of the above versions and has done a more detailed review?

I wonder if any of the three versions has appearance close to gen or not.

587 is a "grail watch" along with the 372 and 127. The rep factories should put alot more effort into it. I am not convinced by any version. If only...

I would have to disagree about the crown analysis. The main thing that turn me off when I saw the sf version was the pit in the case for the crown to screw into. They screwed that up on the 399 too. It looks horrible and I'm glad the gen isn't like that.

The gen isn't really flush with the case. there's a bulge in the case where the crown tube is.

The design comes from the original Panerai 6154 Egiziano Piccolo. This was a weak spot when it came to water resistance so they unscrewed the crown tube a little and added more metal around it to seal it in. Here it is on the original:

KW (V6F) actually got this right which makes it look 10000x better from the front. SF kind of sucks at making cases. Here's the pic on toro's site:
