Late to the party but here's my two cents... I'm 6'6" and 185-190lbs.
I've had 47, 45, 44 and now two 42s... to me 47s are just not good on day to day wear, generally don't fit under shirt sleeves and catch on things. When wearing a 47mm pam you are VERY aware you're wearing a big watch.

The 44s... in my experience it depends on the model. My 243 at 44mm was awesome but I (stupidly ) sold it because I found it was kinda top heavy. That said the 1289 Blu Profundo I am wearing now is 44 and wears, imo, smaller than my 111. Prolly due to the fiddy case vs the luminor case.

The 42s... don't ever let anyone say they're for women and children. BS! I find 42 is THE sweetspot. Fully daily wearable under a dress shirt or on the beach. My 960 in carbon fibre is so so so very comfortable to wear. Sometimes I forget i have a watch on.

I think the one Sub the OP bought is a FINE choice and likely on my list to pick up next.
I just ordered the 111 Noob v12.

I think my Garmin Fenix running watch is 44m, which I was wearing as a daily. So I'm used to a 44m.

But yeah, I have no problems with the 42mm, seems pretty perfect to me.

I couldn't agree more with these statements.

My 2 cents as well… I was always in the 42mm bandwagon, until I received my first 44mm a couple weeks back. I am not looking back ever since, 44 PAM are awesome. For reference I have 17,5 cm wrists

17.3cm wrist, 42mm submersible and 44mm bettarini case wears good. Anything bigger, as someone rightfully pointed out above, makes you very conscious of something big on your wrist.
Pam292 because of the all black look also looks good
