guys... to be honest, i don't care about Registered versus EMS... that is outside of my scope... it's a sore point maybe.... but it's a means and methods type thing....

LOS...
at this point - the post shouldnt be out in the open.

Can you let em both fight it out in private.

For us simple ppl maybe just your original post then lock it to comments.

I'll take it under consideration... but, since PF chose to discuss this out in the open, I think it is important for the forum to see that we do hold dealers accountable....

If it does get out of hand though, it will be locked up... but not hidden.... I am extremely against hiding what happens here...

I think this is a valuable lesson for us all to read. I would rather know what is happening out there so I can be more aware and armed with any information which could help me decide who and where I spend my money with - remember this could happen to any of us, and if we were out $1000 I would like to see how we would react.........................

Agreed - we're talking about over $1000 here which is not a small sum of money in the replica world. I personally would like to see how it is resolved to better determine the list of dealers that I want to do business with.

From a delivery perspective - at least with the few dealers I've dealt with - it is their responsibility to get the product to the buyer. That is, the seller shoulders the burden if the package is lost, stolen, seized by customs, or otherwise made unavailable to the buyer at no fault of their own.

I completely understand where aquaracer is coming from with regards to filing the PayPal dispute. He waited until the last possible moment to file the PayPal claim, however once that window is shut he has no recourse whatsoever to get is $1000+ back. He is, at that point, at the mercy of the seller - which, right or wrong, he at least seemed to feel may not have his best interests at heart.

Best of luck to both of you in resolving this. :?

Aquaracer has emailed me a few hours ago.

He has received the package and alls well.

he has also notified PP to cancel the dispute.

@Aquaracer

Thanks for being a standup guy and cancelling the pp dispute.

I'm glad this deal is finally sorted out to the satisfaction of both parties.

Here i would like to extend my apologies that my shipping via the wrong method started this chain of mess.

Also would like to apologise that because of this incident, things really went downhill from how i'v reacted towards your PP dispute even when tracking was provided. Pls accept my apologies.

Till now Singpost cant tell me why the fuck the package took so long to arrive but i don't think i would entertain that form of shipping for the time being.

Thanks Jay.

@ LOS, there were two sides to Aquaracers v PF's stories, both have been vindicated to a certain extent, a long wait for the item but had tracking versus incorrect shipping method which was slower/less safe. Now that matter is resolved and the dealer seems to be trying to sort out the other problem. Temporarily stopping his trading priviliges was correct but now ,taking into consideration the above, is he going to be reinstated? He seems to be up front and honest in his replies/actions on the matters in hand IMO.

@PF, in future it would be a lot wiser for you to insist buyers or yourself use EMS were customs considerations allow. You've caused yourself a shedload of hassle by saving a few bucks.

Obviously, my comments are only based on the posts in this thread and I realise there may be more that we aren't privvy to for temporarily suspending Pamfrieds trading rights further.

Just my two pennies worth... :|

LOS, perhaps this thread could be saved somewhere as a reference point to noobs about rep realities (and since it was resolved well, perhaps the names should be blacked out so as to not color people's impressions of those involved). It seems a very educational thread for several reasons:

1. it shows the vagaries and haphazard elements that both dealer and buyer are at the mercy of when it comes to shipping/tracking/delivery, etc. in our little trade, especially when it comes to the cheaper versions of shipping. ensuring you're using the best, safest shipping may be worth every penny and then some.

2. it shows, IMO, the way to handle a situation as a buyer. i personally felt Aqua comported himself very well, given the unfortunate circumstances. we've had buyers here freak out and start bashing/threatening 2 days into a purchase 1 week after CNY. 7 weeks (2 weeks just to see the Tracking No. provided actually enter the system), that's a long time to remain calm about it. waiting 'til the last possible day to protect himself on PP, while always having the option to drop the dispute if it shows up. kudos, Aqua; that's a hard example you've set for us to follow...

3. n although PF blew his top and it almost got out of hand, it definitely shows the noobs once again that the dealers listed as trusted are given that status for a reason. The dealers here are not trying to scam you; there may be problems and issues and arguments that apparently can take 7 weeks to resolve and show up at your door, but at least you don't have to worry (like you do outside the forum) that they are trying to steal your money from the outset.

4. this forum is a phenomenal vehicle of transactional transparency. once it gets to a certain point of no return, everyone here is accountable, very publicly. there is no way that that doesn't affect in some manner the way in which dealers (and buyers) handle these disputes. well and evenly handled, LOS.

Glad to hear that this has been resolved, both the dealer and the buyer are respected members of the RWI community and I'm truly happy to see that this is squared away.

Funny that HBoy never chimed in here. Did that get resolved also? Just wondering.

Been away for awhile; season here in Naples. Too much work, day and night, to have time for anything else but sleep and eat. Will be more in touch during the summer.

Yes I too am very relieved to see the package finally!

It appears the label got damaged and the package was sitting at JFK- since I work for a company that does a lot of business with USPS we started a tracer and I guess they found it cause it had a big blue "REROUTE" label on it with the name of the shipping clerk at my company when it arrived.

Obviously a Paypal claim is something I never imagined i would file against anyone int he rep business. (And never have prior to this)

But it was clear that SOMETHING bad had happened to this package. As I said in my emails with PF and in this forum- I NEVER doubted he sourced the watches, I NEVER doubted he shipped the watches. It's just that after SEVEN weeks out $1100 with nothing to show for it- you get a little nervous.

While I accept PF's apology- A boundary was crossed here that should NEVER be crossed in this hobby. My Paypal claim was purely business- I explained it to PF several days before I filed- and the day I filed he posted all of my personal data on this forum and called me some unmentionable names- THAT was personal. And what did I do wrong?? I protected my investment after 5 weeks with no product. I've had delays in the rep biz before (who hasn't), I've had dead watches, watches with no hands, watches with busted crystals, watches that were two hours slow a day- You know- rep stuff. Most got resolves, a few never did and those dealers are now gone from the business. (You vets probably know who I'm talking about) NEVER had a dealer call me names, NEVER even THOUGHT about filing a Paypal or Credit Card claim.

So PF- Thank you for the stunning MBK AP ROO Offhsore and the AMAZING hornback straps- easily the equal of the gen- I paid a lot but it's the best, granted. In fact those AP Hornback straps are easily the higest quality items I've ever purchase din the rep world.

But I hope you can be COOL in the future- treat your customer like a customer- not like an adversary. Use even HIGHER standards of professionalism in the rep biz as you would in any normal, LEGAL endeavor, cause that's the only way we- the American and European customers- can EVER trust our dealers.

And to the Mods here- Thanks for being level headed and looking out for the best interests of the forumites FIRST, before the interests of dealers. You made me jump through a few hoops to verify my position, but I felt it was justified, and shows your commitment to keeping this hobby fun and as safe as possible for us watch loving fools.

Well said! We are all here for this reason itself

Glad to hear that it all worked out in the end.

This thread has shown how it works in the rep-world and the strength of being
a member of this board and what it entails to be a trusted seller on this board.

Thanks for sharing this info...

Thanks for the advice Scone.

Yes i'll be pushing for EMS from now on but sometimes purchases are below 100 and would be hard to ask peeps to pay 40usd for ems shipping.

Bu then again i'll relate this incident to them make them understand that if they wanna take registered mail, be prepared.

I've shipped with this method many times and never exceeded 10 working days to reach the buyer but this one off incident is enough.

Thanks.
