Tha

Thanks for the advice. I'm thin so looking for a 42mm Pam. The 688 looks pretty good, what do you think?
Tbh, i have no clue about that watch. If it is a limited (special edition) i wouldn´t go for it. You will get called out immediately if a true Paneristi is there. I always went with only standard, manual wind PAM-reps, such as 111, 000, 005, 622 or 372(closed caseback is a must to cover the bad movement layout and cover) with the reliable a6497 movement. I mostly avoid auto winding reps due to their lack of reliability (despite a2824/36 reps) and mostly not working like the gens. I have no clue about this movement, but as i know the gen gmt hand is jumping full hours when adjusted whilst the hour hand can be set separate from minute hand. I have not seen this working properly in any rep. So i stood away from this watches.

Is there such thing as a 111 w/ closed case back?

K I didn't think so. The current noob with correct balance wheel position looks good enough for me tho. I actually like open case backs so that I can admire the mechanics of the movement, rather it is genlike or not, but that's just my preference

So why do you ask if you already have made your opinion?

U must not like questions? I asked because u said closed casebacks are a must, but u also said u had a 111. I may like presentation casebacks, but I was curious to hear if for some reason a closed caseback 111 had been made, based off what I read in your comment. Just because I said my opinion, that I prefer open caseback 111, doesn't mean I shouldn't have asked you a simple question because I misunderstood your comment, does it?

Although some of us have pre-formed opinions with regards to what we like, it does not and should not stop us from being inquisitive. Actually, there is a PAM Luminor Marina 44mm with a black luminova dial with a closed caseback and that is the PAM001 (latter 1999 B-series, the earlier run had Tritium dials). Unfortunately, this model is only made by DSN and is not made with the same quality as the current PAM111 reps so it is recommended you go with the PAM005 if you prefer a closed caseback (although with the addition of the OP logo on the dial).

Thank you for being a freaking badass @mysterio and one of the ultimate PAM resources, among other brands of course!

My comment regarding a closed caseback was meant only for the 372 (Noob edition). This particular models dial and overall appearance is nearly perfectly made against the gen (despite the wrong engraving of the R in Luminor, the too creamy slightly reddish lume color and of course the worse movement decoration). I own a 111 rep (Noob), a wonderful rep despite the wrong color of the dial printing (too dark and greyish), the clarity of the crystal and of course the open caseback. Where it is to state, that the movement deco, layout and finishing is maybe the best i've seen so far in any rep.

I agree that the finishing on the noob V4 is impressive. What do u think about Marlin's modded 111 he's doing? Looks beautiful to me

I always avoid modded watches even when they look great in many cases. But all of them remain reps forever. So i'd save the premium and go for the real deal.
