Hi guys, pretty new to the forums, and I'm currently in the midst of placing an order for a Pam111, but at the same time looking for a good rep of my grail watch, the Pam 422.

Tried running a search but it seems most reviews are pretty old, some of which the rep is sporting a plexiglass movement while the gen does not.

Would like to know if any of the members here have any comments on current builds of the Pam 422. Which factory produces the better versions at the moment, and any flaws to look out for?

Appreciate any comments from anyone here. Many thanks!

This is really weird because a similar watch from SF was introduced by Puretime and Intime in Sept 2015 and then this watch disappeared from their catalogues

Indeed there is still a video from Puretime in its files, but the watch doesn't appear in the web catalogue.

This watch was firstly released with wrong (21) JESELS engraving on bridges (after that was corrected). In the video you can still see the wrong JESELS engraving

What's the matter with this watch?

Interesting, looks there's been 3 versions of the SF 422.
1)Original V1
2)The one in the puretime video which still has a 6497 but nicer decoration (minus jesels) and non engraved "PANERAI" on dial.
3)V2 with P3001 clone and engraved "PANERAI" on dial

Hmm.. Anyone done any reviews of the latest V2 with P3001 clone and engraved logo so far? I really love this watch but the lack of any good information so far is making it difficult to make an informed purchase..

Nope. It only appeared on chinese websites so far.
Colour of engravings and markers seems far off.

How about 127 or 217?

The 127 actually looks ok, but I'm not a fan of the shape of the dome which seems to have a gradual slope. The 422's dome is a bit more vertical on the sides. Also, the 127 uses a brushed case with polished bezel while the 422 is fully polished. Profile of the casings seem to also be different.

As for the 217, nice too, but not really into the destro look. Prefer the crown to be on the right side..

Very good reasons on both sides!

I too really like the 422. Am fortunate enough to have a gen, though I rarely wear it due to my new found rep hobby haha

Nice! Is it true that the 422's case is different from most Luminor cases? I read somewhere that it's more of a Radiomir type of profile, except with a crown guard and that domed crystal.

I just saw a 422 in the window of the local authorised dealer a couple of days ago. I love it so much that I feel I may even drop the tons of cash to pick up the gen! Aarrghh

422 has the same case as 372 and radiomirs from a side view. Its double angled. I'll take a pic for you

Top is a 389 rep with standard 1950 case and bottom is 422 with the rad style case.

Ah yes. That's what I love about the 422.. It just checks all my boxes. Has that tall domed sapphire crystal, Radiomir type profile, right side CG, and a seconds sub dial. Haha I really can't see myself buying anything else. A Pam 127 would probably bring me closest to the 422 but I'm not sure I can live with the case shape and that crystal..

The 3 day PR on the back is quite nice too! Maybe one day the factories will get a decent 422 going.
