It's basically the same myth as the Rolex crown where it magically stops with the crown upright when you tighten it. Here's a few PAM388 gen casebacks from chrono24.
As you can see, no rhyme or reason for the placement of the inscriptions.

I knew about the Rolex positioning and I (wrongly) thought that also Panerai casebacks used this kind of attention to details
I bought one a while back when they came out and it's still in the wrappers. After this review it might be time to bust it out after I get a new strap!
