Shame about the logo on the winder, but as usual unless they are side by side no one's really going to know.

The new watch looks great, just unfortunate about the crown.

Now that I would say is a super rep. The crown is not that bad. No one is going to know that flaw even gen owners and even ppl that work at the hour glass or whatever without having the gen right next to it.

Why would you buy a gen PAM these days? Reps are so good.

No Gen Sample = no super Rep

Maybe so - but I would be surprised if you showed this to 100 lovers and see how many could tell its a rep. I would bet that number be quite small.

Especially if you dont show the back - well PAMs are so easy and simple to replicate it would be almost impossible to tell.

Looks-wise, the new clone P.9000 movement is done well enough that a cursory look at the movement will pass, based on this comparison by @Grimlocktime.

Well, for the everyday "lover" the watch will pass, the primary nitpicker will always be us rep collectors. :) The crown has been an issue even with the PAM183 and PAM380 before this model, not sure why this has been repeated as this is not the same wrong crown (like if they just used remaining crowns, even from the V1 PAM388). The logo is larger on the rep. with the "O" being the same size as the "P" (on the gen the "O" is slightly narrower than the "P").

Mysterio the quality of these VSF reps is truly stunning. You are totally correct the only people that will pick up on the tiny variations is people like us. But for me it's obvious enough to require a gen dial before it goes on my wrist LOL

me being a nitpick... :bash: the colors of the dial and date wheel are still off.

probably why Gen dials are a basic requirement for @Grimlocktime, haha

Most obvious for me is the shape of the numbers and size of the subdial markers.

The text color is really close. For the PAM312 it's almost exact.

I must have gotten a bad copy for my VSF312.

the inscriptions are still quite far off from GEN, darker shade of yellow
Datewheel's, too orangy

will try posting photos later.

I have this watch and a gen 380.
The VSF 388 is a stunning build. The quality is outstanding.
I have just put a gen Panerai Gator strap (MX007NXY) on and side by side with the 380 you could never tell the 388 was a rep. The feel is all quality.

Sure there are a few things wrong, but this is a brilliant effort by VSF

I can't speak about the movement in comparison to any Rolex ones as I normally only collect PAMs (surprising but true  ). Plus the movement is relatively new (just introduced December of last year) but there hasn't been many reports of this movement failing so that's a good measure of its reliability IMHO.
