I think this is it - it took 72h to figure it out...but goodness, why couldn't I fall in love with a stupid Timex or something?

Anyway - after reading the ALE Guide To PAM Wisdom and trying to match what that guide says to the specs of the watch, I am thinking of pulling the trigger on this one:

http://www.intime.co/panerai/1381-pam388-o-zf-1-1-best-edition-on-black-leather-strap-p9000.html

I initially wanted something with a functioning power reserve, but those seem pretty rare. (The PAM057 seems really el-snazzo...)

Anyway, judging by the specs, this one seems pretty solid, despite the fact that the movement is the A7750 (though, for the life of me, I couldn't tell if this was the updated version or not, as indicated by ALE's guide).

Am I going astray with this model? Is there a more suitable PAM388 model to buy?

Thanks very much!

This is not the correct version
That matter is clearly explained in PAM GUIDE

I would buy KW-V6Fac with Seagull NON-inverted:
http://www.ttw8488.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=352&products_id=13019

If you want to buy from another dealer ask him for the above indicated version

Good luck
ALE

I admit that I qualify as the Boob Noob Of The Day, but I will go and figure how iI should have known that.

Thank you, ALE.

Edited portion - OK, I absolutely suck, no question, as I completely missed the links at the bottom of the review matching up to the comments above.

Thank you again, ALE, for all the work there.

No worries mate
We are here to help

But many times a correct reading of the PAM GUIDE avoids a lot of problems and disappointements and people could even save some money

Mine came in as well. It is a beauty. Next purchase would be the strap. Too bad I am unable to attach a photo. I am such a total noob on this forum.
But, much thanks again to ALE7575 and your Reference PAM REVIEW-GUIDE.

ALE, I'm looking at buying the PAM 388 too. I see KW and ZF make a recent update v2. I'm leaning towards the KW based on all I've read, but wanted to confirm, as this will be my first rep. Is the screw/band issue completely resolved now? Thanks in advance.

Never mind. I was reading your excel and finally found your full guide on the 388. I used my computer as it was difficult to navigate on my phone. I will ask Toro if they have this model still.

Which model is the recommended version? I see he quoted the KW-V6Fac with Seagull NON-inverted earlier, but I am not sure if that has been updated to a better version since that post.

I've amended my post and removed the pics to abide by the rules.

The only question I have is does anyone find the crown on the 388 a bit off color than the rest? Looks a bit tarnished on mine.
