Rebrushing by hand will not yield results same as the original.

As you're a PAM consultant on the forum, you have infinite more experience than I. Have you attempted a rebrush before?

If the satin finishing techniques we use to touch up bracelets won't work on the case , are you suggesting it needs to be sand blasted or machine brushed? In that case he could take the case to a machine shop and have them restore the satin finish?

You could try taking it somewhere who could machine brush the bezel it for you. And get them to add a polished chamfer while you're there. Another member has done this.

Would it be possible to link the thread?

OP, hopefully enough info has been provided for you to restore your watch. Good luck!

Here are my results.
Steps
1) I put the head in hot tap water
2 I put a teaspoon of XL gel in a bowl and filled it with 2 cups of hot water then mixed
3) submersed the watch till it was black
4) put the watch in carbonated soda water.
5) polished with cape cod around the edges
And voila.

All`s well that ends well :) I am looking forward to getting mine and letting it develop in the Italian seawater over time and just let...................well, nature to take its course :) Fortunately, I will be ridiculously often in the Italian seawater so after three or four immersions per week it will be interesting to see what Mother Nature does in a couple months time - I will try to do a time staged photo shoot along the way and share what the results are :)

egg it, then leave it alone! pat dry with a cloth. Cape Cod will also take off the brushing on the bezel.
