They only agreed to have me ship the watch back to China and they will cover the repair and return shipping... but I'd have to pay the to shipping. For obvious reasons, I rather not have to deal with international shipping again.
The situation sucks but I guess the best course is if I just find a local, US watchsmith to repair it.
